What was Pete Davidson's sentence for car crash? Internet calls out comedian's 'White privilege' after lenient punishment
BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Pete Davidson received a lenient sentence for reckless driving following an incident in March 2023. The accident involved his Mercedes that crashed into a Beverly Hills mansion while his girlfriend Chase Sui Wonders was present inside the car. Official charges were filed against the 29-year-old comedian last month.
To address the offense, Pete entered a diversion program, which spared him from having to enter a plea of guilty or no contest, as per TMZ's report. As part of his sentence, he is mandated to complete 50 hours of community service, a task he intends to fulfill with the New York City Fire Department.
Light punishment
Moreover, Pete is also required to attend 12 hours of traffic school and undergo an educational program at a morgue, aiming to gain insight into the consequences that reckless driving can have on its victims. Once these conditions are satisfactorily met, he will be exonerated from any criminal charges related to the incident.
In June, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office formally charged Pete with one count of reckless driving, as disclosed by TMZ. Fortunately, no serious injuries resulted from the collision, according to a spokesperson from the DA's office. A tweet by CNN read, "A Los Angeles County Superior judge ordered actor Pete Davidson to complete an 18-month diversion program after the actor was charged with reckless driving in connection with a car crash in Beverly Hills earlier this year."

The appearance comes in the wake of Pete's decision to seek treatment for his mental health issues, as he had entered rehab just a few weeks prior to the pizza shop visit. Despite his personal struggles, it seemed Pete is taking some time to enjoy moments outside of his treatment and connect with others at the local pizza joint.
Outside the restaurant, Pete Davidson flashed a smile for the camera, showing his contentment as he embraced the others with his arms wrapped around them. Keeping it casual, Pete donned a laid-back ensemble, featuring a black baseball cap, a cozy gray hoodie, black sweatpants, and stylish gray sneakers. The comedian's appearance exuded happiness and good health, reflecting his positive state after completing his rehab journey.
