Was Bobby East married? Truth behind rumors that late Nascar driver had wife and 3-year-old son
Robert John East, more famous as Bobby East, died on Wednesday, July 13. He was murdered while he was filling up his car at a gas station in Orange County, California. The person responsible for fatally stabbing him was Trent William Millsap, who was later shot dead by a SWAT team in Anaheim.
After the news of East’s tragic death went out, several reports began claiming that the 37-year-old had left behind a wife and a three-year-old son. It has been said that the reports stating the Nascar star was married got the information from the Facebook account of NKANI, a Zambian news source site. A May 2020 post on the social media page had a photo of a woman named Natasha Zulu while the caption said, “She is Bobby East’s wife. They got married in October last year and have a son together.”

However, those reports apparently missed to say that though Natasha is the wife of Bobby East but not Bobby East who was killed last week. Natasha is reportedly married to a Zambain musician, who is a namesake of the Nascar driver. The musician is present on different social media platforms, like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. He also reporteldy has a son with Natasha.
On the other hand, according to fact checkers, the race car driver was not active on social media. Besides, he was apparently single when he died. He also did not have any children of his own and is survived by his mother Janice East, father Bob East, and two sisters Amy and Alison.
As per a press release, East was “found on the ground suffering from a serious stab wound to the chest area when WPD officers responded to the 76 gas station, located at 6322 Westminster Blvd. Officers attempted life saving measures until OCFA paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a local trauma center, where the victim succumbed to his injury.”
Remembering him, Nascar issued a statement that said, “Nascar is saddened to learn of the tragic death of Bobby East. We extend our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Bobby, a true racer.” Former Truck Series champion Todd Bodine shared on Twitter: “Very sad to hear of the tragic incident involving Legend USAC driver Bobby East. He was one heck of a wheelman.” RFK owner Brad Keselowski tweeted, “The news of this murder is Tragic and wrong. He and his family were true racers. Prayers for justice and peace.”

East’s mother re-shared a tribute to him by quartermidgets.com on her Facebook page that read: “Prayers go out to the family of Bobby East. He was a #quartermidgets kid back in the 90’s. He was very gifted in his talent to drive a Racecar. I’ll always remember when he won #TurkeyNightGP one year. Never said no when I asked him to help promote the kids racing. So many posts I’ve seen tell such a fraction of one’s life. Most of all, he was a son, a brother an uncle and a friend. Many prayers for peace for Bob & Janice East, Allison and Amy & families. #beastcars.”
