‘Warrior’ Season 2 Episode 5 ‘Not for a Drink, a F*ck, or a G**damn Prayer’: How will Bill and Lee take revenge from Zing?

There are two possibilities now: Either, Chao's plan could prove to be a boon for the cops, or it could be another big blow for them

There is a war to end all wars... and that war seems to be coming to ‘Warrior’ soon. In Episode 3 ‘Not How We Do Business’, Sergeant Bill O'Hara (Kieran Bew) saw a brutal bloodbath as Zing (Dustin Nguyen) sent men to his house after he refused being a debt collector for his Tong. “Not how we do business...” Zing warned Bill when he told him he was done. Zing's warning seemed more like a threat but Bill didn't seem to care. “F**k you,” he said. “I've more than paid my debt. I am done.” He added, "And if you or your men ever come near me again. You so much as look in my direction I'll bring the full f**king force of the San Francisco Police Department down on the Fung Hai!”

In the same episode, Chao (Hoon Lee) had a fallout with Zing too as the latter pressed him for weapons. Chao went to Mai Ling (Dianne Doan) and told her, “I don't want Zing anywhere near my shop. He's bad for business.” Not one to let it go, he added, “I don't need his business and I don't like his threats.” Putting up a diplomatic front, Mai Ling retorted, “Be thankful for your pain, Chao. It means you're still alive.” But, Chao wasn't convinced and he is looking for means to exact revenge from Zing.

In a compelling and devastating ending to that episode, Zing's men attack Bill's wife and children right after Richard Lee (Tom Weston-Jones) leaves his home. Side note: Lee leaves his notebook behind and the attack takes place seconds after Bill notices something strange in the diary. What are the secrets the two are keeping from one another? Lee comes back... only to witness a deadly attack with blood splattered everywhere. He puts up a brave fight as Bill's wife Lucy (Emily Child) fires a bullet right into the last assassin's head in a catastrophic end.

When Episode 4 ‘If You Don't See Blood, You Didn't Come to Play’ begins, Bill confesses he has been working for the Fung Hai for months and Lee punches him right in the face. The cops plan to retaliate on the Fung Hai after their attack on O’Hara’s home, but Chao comes with a plan to set up a counter trap. In exchange, Chao wants his stock of police-confiscated weapons returned. Back at Ah Toy's (Olivia Cheng) opium den, Lee finds relief, and Chao spies on him. Chao has a master plan in mind and he does so by taking Ah Toy’s sword.

Now, we know well that Episode 5 ‘Not for a Drink, a F*ck, or a G**damn Prayer’ will set up the big fight, but how exactly will Bill and Lee avenge the attack?

Many fans are irked with him for being two-faced. “Lee has every right to be angry at Bill. Like the missus says, 'You did this.' How's he gonna make it right, and how's he gonna redeem himself for his actions?” one fan said while another posted, “Guaranteed to go wrong. Bill keeps trying to cover lies with more lies and manipulation. He can't keep up.” Well, Bill literally invited it to his house and almost lost his kid. Now, Bill really needs to mend his ways.

Will Chao's plan work for Bill and Lee or will Zing's men get the better of him? Moreover, will Lee even fight for Bill after their squabble? With Li Yong (Joe Taslim) seemingly in disagreement with Mai Ling over Zing's involvement, he could get involved in the retaliation too. There are two possibilities now: Either, Chao's plan could prove to be a boon for the cops, or it could be another big blow for them. Now, with all the conflict and combat to look forward to in the next episode, it may just feature a bombastic end and we're all for the kung fu action that awaits us.

Directed by Loni Peristere and written by Evan Endicott & Josh Stoddard, the episode will air on October 30, 2020. Catch more episodes of ‘Warrior’ Season 2 on Cinemax every Friday at 10 pm ET.
