Who is Wardell Malloy? Meet Tamar Braxton's boyfriend as she says ‘this is the man I love’ after three breakups
Love is in the air... Tamar Braxton — the founder of R&B singing group The Braxtons — just revealed the mystery man in her life and it's none other than Wardell Malloy. Sharing a lovely snap of the two holding each other close, she wrote, “This is the man I love!”
Tamar is the youngest of her siblings, including her sisters Toni, Traci, Towanda and Trina, as well as her only brother Michael Jr. She was married to her first husband, music producer Darrell “Delite” Allamby in 2001 and then she tied the knot with Vincent Herbert, a record executive whom she met through her sister, Toni. She then had a relationship with financial adviser David Adefeso but that too didn't end well. Did you know he filed a restraining order against Braxton for domestic violence?

Who is Wardell Malloy?
Born in 1980, Wardell Malloy is the Assistant Vice President, Creative, Los Angeles for Broadcast Music Inc (BMI) who reports directly to BMI Vice President, Creative, Atlanta, Catherine Brewton. According to his official bio, he is “responsible for signing and fostering the growth of songwriters and producers in the R&B, hip-hop and gospel genres”. Moreover, Malloy “oversees showcases, workshops and panels aimed at educating and supporting the creative community”.

Malloy studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology and got a major in Advertising and Marketing. He then obtained his DJ Certification from the Scratch DJ Academy. How did he start his career? Before BMI, Malloy was an A&R Manager at Universal and also assisted with the administration and creative aspects of album production. Not just that, he was also a Fashion Assistant at Source magazine and is an active Director on the Board of COCM/Harvest of Hope.
The man of the moment
Malloy is now dating Braxton and while details of their romance are not out yet, on July 4, Tamar posted an image on Instagram with him. The 43-year-old singer leaned onto Wardell’s shoulder while flaunting the popular duck lips expression to show off her hair. He, meanwhile, complemented her in a black tank top and a silver necklace.
If we turn back time, she shaved her head in 2017 after ending the nine-year marriage with ex-husband, music producer Vincent Herbert. She wrote: “Just wanted to give a shout out to God and praise him for my edges. For a while, all I had was skin and thoughts‼️ I know that he pays attention to the little prayers. And If he did it for me he will do it for you🏆✨#yougrowgirl #lookatgod.” Who knew romance was brewing between the two? Interestingly, she called him an “amazing photographer/publisher/brother for 23 years” at that time.

In an interview, he spoke about what he wants in a relationship saying, “Loyalty, honesty, and integrity; they’re all equally important to me. You can’t have one without the others.” He also added, “My idea of unwinding on vacation is usually with a cocktail, lots of laughs, and great company. But if I had to say my best vacation, it would be when I went to Monaco. It was amazing!! Everything was beautiful…the water, architecture, food, everything was perfect.”
What's more, elaborating on his dream, he added it “would be to pack a suitcase and travel with whatever I have, carefree, and enjoy the culture of places like Amsterdam, Rome, and Paris”. Malloy also dished some advice, saying, “Stand for something and be yourself. So many people are scared to stand for something and to be themselves. We all have a voice, so use it for good. Use your gifts, knowledge, and wisdom to give back to someone else. We are not on Earth for our selfish gains; we’re here to share our experiences. You never know how your experience can lift someone up. We are all role models; you never know who’s watching and learning from you.”
