Rapper Waka Flocka Flame aka Juaquin James Malphurs wanted to show the world his passion for suicide prevention and mental health, instead, he ended up getting trolled for it,  Waka took to Twitter to post a tweet that he was dedicating his life to suicide prevention and mental illness. He wrote, "I’m officially dedicating my life to suicide prevention and mental illness!!! Y’all not alone Waka Flocka Flame is with y’all now!!!!" Unfortunately for the rapper, his uplifting tweet became a subject of joke.

Several trolls mocked Waka's tweet's tone and joked about how he cured their depression. A troll tweeted, "@WakaFlocka and@len0killer *pulling the gun out of my mouth* wait Waka's here now??" Another wrote, "Waka flocka flame will cure my depression." "Waka Flocka has officially transcended into god levels. # Wakaiswithyall," mocked a fan. "I’ve felt really alone at a lot of points in my life due to my mental illness, but I just want everyone to know that I am now cured thanks to Waka Flocka Flame. You dropped this sir," commented a fan.

Waka has been an active advocate for suicide prevention, ever since his younger brother and fellow rapper KayO Redd committed suicide in 2013. That incident forever changed the rapper, who decided to make some big changes in his life. Waka revealed that his younger brother's stress might have pushed him to take the drastic step. Ever since then, he has embarked on a healthy lifestyle. He took to veganism, detoxing and leading a healthy life.

In an interview, Waka revealed, "After that situation (brother's passing) I detoxed for like seven days. I changed my diet. I became 85% vegan. I just felt like I had to cleanse myself... I've been through that before, so to me that's willpower because if I sit there and mope, a lot of things could go bad. That boy had a lot of stress on him. It's a lot of things that go on behind doors that people don't know about... like it's a lot of stress that come with this game. The strong survive. The family is good, though. Life goes on. That's the motto for me, life goes on. If my eyes ain't closed and I'm not breathing, I'm not hurting."

Several fans also came forward to extend their support and appreciation of the rapper for using his platform to throw light on mental illnesses and suicide. A fan tweeted, "Waka flocka tryna really help people wit mental illness partly due to his brother taking his own life and y'all wanna sit here n mock him bout it lol. this app continue to be lame asl." Another fan shared, "Waka flocka trending so I go see why...y’all a bunch of bullies for teasing him for wanting to help with suicide prevention....can we have a space where we actually praise our black men for stepping up instead of finding the funny in every situation?"

"Waka Flocka lost his brother to these troubles that he’s saying he wants to advocate to help people battle against. This is something he’s spoken about over the years and as someone studying to become a mental health counselor/therapist I commend him! Take him seriously!!" expressed an annoyed fan. Another fan observed, "So Waka Flocka decides to dedicate his life to suicide prevention (he lost his brother to suicide) and y'all wanna clown him? We need more people like him to help promote suicide prevention."
