NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: A viral video shows a man training his pit bull to open subway emergency exits to ride the train for free, saving $2.75. The man can be heard saying: "Relax, listen - push the button".

The video, posted by SubwayCreatures on Twitter and Instagram with the caption, "He really taught the dog to open the door," shows the pitbull obeying the instructions of the man who showed him how to open the gate. While the person recording the video says, "Alright, he's teaching his dog how to open the door for him. He told him to push the button." The clip then shows the pit bull running around both sides of the door before finally figuring out what his owner is telling him to do. He jumps and pushes the handle for the emergency subway station gate and the two men behind it smile and walk through.

Following this video, which has now over two million views, people bombarded the comment section calling it "the best video on the internet." One user wrote, "Man's best friend." Another wrote, "Love this for so many reasons. All those smiles are a huge piece of it. That pup was so proud. One more individual stated, "This is why dogs will forever be better than cats."

On the other hand, many pointed out why the pitbull was unleashed. A user said, "Keep your dog on a leash or he'll get hurt or hurt someone. Common sense." "Rather not have a pitbull unleashed in the subway.. but ok," wrote another user. A certain section of people also raised what was the big deal in paying the fare. A person commented, "Just pay for the ticket." A user called the video cute but said, "It only cost like 2.75 to avoid being fined 150 bucks." And one couldn't help but say, "But there was a policeman behind, and he didn't say anything. those two guys didn't pay; instead, they are going to be viral for doing that. What an excellent exampled for @nycgo & @nycmtasubway, don't pay the fare you all."

The video comes after Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) came under harsh criticism for steadily increasing fare costs. On August 15 of this year, The New York Times reported that the MTA  was headed for another "budget disaster and will face a $2.5 billion budget deficit in 2025."
