Former NFL wide receiver Vincent Jackson of Tampa Bay Buccaneers was found dead at a Florida hotel on Monday, February 15. The 38-year-old was found dead at Homewood Suites in the Tampa suburb of Brandon, at approximately 11.30 am by a housekeeper who went to check his room, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. The suburb is just outside the heart of Tampa. Jackson, a married father-of-three, had been staying at the hotel since January and was reported missing by his family on February 10.

Two days after the report was filed, the sheriff's office said deputies found and spoke to the former Chargers and Buccaneers star. "After assessing Jackson's well-being, the missing persons case was canceled," the sheriff's office said. He was found dead in his room three days later. The county medical examiner's office will determine the cause of death and authorities said there were no visible signs of trauma. It's currently unclear, however, why Jackson had been staying at Homewood Suites for the last month. Meanwhile, here's what we know about how the NFL star made his fortune.
