If you thought that things will dim down in Kattegat with Queen Lagertha’s death, you are in for a surprise. Nothing keeps our Vikings out of action for long, even if it’s the death of the queen. And as the King of Kattegat and son of Lagertha, it is most obvious that Björn Ironside will take the lead in avenging his mother’s death. When he came back from the election, attacked and injured by Harald Fairhair's men, he landed straight at his mother’s funeral.

From one shock (him not getting elected despite Olaf’s promise was quite a blow) to another, Björn is on edge. And then he probably figured out that it was Hvistserk who was responsible for Lagertha’s death. Knowing Björn, he would not sit back and watch his life and his kingdom fall apart. As the preview of Episode 8 shows, the king will punish the criminal and put him on a stake.

On the other side of the country, there’s the newly crowned King Harald, who is all set to attack Kattegat and Björn has to prepare for it. But even before Harald manages to do that, he will be surprised by a mysterious raiding army. From the clips, it so appears that these new people attacking Harald’s kingdom might be the Russians.

Elsewhere, Ubbe and Torvi will finally set out on the journey they have been planning for months now. After losing her son and Lagertha, Torvi doesn’t have much left in Kattegat and might as well take off in search of new places and new friends, along with her husband.

‘Valhalla Can Wait’ promises to be an episode of high-octane actions on all fronts as an aftermath of what went down recently. While you might think that with the end of Lagertha’s chapter, there might be a new chapter opening up, it is not quite the case. The show is soon to go on its midseason break after a couple of more episodes, which means that this is all a precursor towards the end of the Vikings’ journey. And yet, in the meantime, there’s a lot to see and lot to discover, plots and schemes to unravel and well, join our favorite Vikings as they carry on with their adventurous journey.

In the upcoming episode, watch Björn assume a ruthless form and deal with everything that has hurt him in recent times. Catch a glimpse of what’s coming next-
