Ever since Bjorn Ironside got crowned the king of Kattegat, he has not been at peace. Although initially, everything about Bjorn made it look like he was perfect for his job, we saw him struggling. First, he is worried about how he will continue his father’s legacy or if he will do justice to his kingship.

And then, even before he found answers to these questions, he was approached by King Harald’s men to save their kingdom from King Olaf who had usurped Harald’s lands. After ample contemplation, when Bjorn finally decides to go and help Harald Finehair, he delegates Ubbe with the responsibility of taking care of Kattegat and its people.

Ubbe, as the obliging brother and son of Ragnar, takes the onus of doing his best while his brother is away. He ensures that Lagertha’s farmstead has been set up and ready, leaves his children in her care, and then devises a plan to boost exposure of Kattegat. He plans to open up the humble Norwegian town to the world and welcome trade and commerce from around the world. That is when he also plans to send a fleet to China and the Far East, down the Silk Road. This is where fans start thinking that Ubbe has a lot of foresight that a ruler should have. Although he is acting on behalf of his elder brother, he seems to be more focused on actions than just words.

As Chicken713, comments, “Ubbe would be a better king than bjorn.” And to his statement, DoY0uKnowWh0Iam, agrees, saying, “TRUE..HE HAS RAGNARS WISDOM”
Another fan, BraveCable, thinks Bjorn needs more than what he has to be a ruler.

The fan comments, “I'm baffled when some folks say Bjorn ruled instead of Aslaug for 10 years. He is a great warrior but 6A clearly shows he has a very limited experience in actual ruling.” And between Bjorn and Ubbe, it looks like fans are rooting for the latter.

However, if Ubbe has to continue to look after Kattegat and ensure the town’s development, he cannot take risks with Hvistserk. For instance, when he discussed his China voyage at the great hall, fans got worried with him assigning Hvitserk with the task. @joshuaespenceTweets, “Don't send Hvitserk down the Silk Road to China. It will not end well. #HistoryVikings #Vikings
