VeriVery 1st US Tour canceled as Yongseung gets Covid, fans say 'not your fault'
With the pandemic getting better in the last few months, a lot of places opened up, in-person events resumed and we once again got concerts and world tours. While BTS had a four-day concert in LA, Monsta X is touring USA with iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball. Additionally, a lot of K-pop acts announced world tours for 2022 like Eric Nam, TWICE, Ateez and VeriVery. However, there has been a sudden Covid-19 outbreak once again with shows getting canceled.
A lot of acts pulled out from the last stop of the Jingle Ball due to the rise in cases while South Korea has once again gone in lockdown. TWICE had to cancel their concert in Seoul while other in-person annual music festivals may also go virtual. But one group and their fandom are going through a rougher patch. The K-pop group VeriVery was on their first successful US tour when the outbreak happened with member Yongseung getting Covid-19.

VeriVery’s Yongseung gets Covid-19
VeriVery had gone on their very first US tour ‘2021 VeriVery 1st Tour In US’ on December 5. It was supposed to go on till December 20 with nine stops in the US. They began in LA and were supposed to have their last concert in New York. With just a couple of stops left, they had almost completed their tour successfully. Unfortunately, on December 17, fans were alerted that their concert at their seventh stop, which was in Cleveland that night would be canceled. The label, Jellyfish shared that abnormal symptoms had been displayed and everyone had been tested. Well, it looks like Yongseung ended up testing positive.
On December 17 evening, Jellyfish released another statement that said that all of the staff and VeriVery were negative except for member Yongseung. He has been “immediately separated from the other members and staff, and has started self-isolation in compliance with the regulations of local council and the State of Ohio. He has no other symptoms than a light headache.” With keeping their artists’ health as a priority, the remainder of the US tour has been halted. Along with the Cleveland concert, the remaining concerts in Harrisburg and New York have been canceled.
'Your health is the most important'
Fans have been trending ‘Get well soon Yongseung’ as they asked the VeriVery member not to feel guilty for getting the remainder of the tour canceled. Fans noticed that he was online and kept showering him with comforting messages. They made tweets like, “It has been confirmed that Yongseung is tested positive. Let's pray for his quick recovery. The concert is also cancelled, it must be frustrating but I hope we all understand, pray for Verivery and other staffs too. We love you Yongseung and Verivery.”
Another fan posted, “Yongseung was so happy with the tour, you could see he was having so much fun. I hope he's not feeling guilty or anything for the cancelled tour.” One fan added, “I was shocked when I hear the news. Please take a lot of rest. Your health is the most important. Get well soon Yongseung! Verrers will be here for you.” Another said, “It's not your fault. Verivery and verrer loves you. Get well soon Yongseung.”
