Kobe Bryant's grieving wife Vanessa poses with daughters at LA mural dedicated to him and Gianna
Vanessa Bryant is a rock for her daughters after the tragic death of her husband Kobe Bryant and one of her daughters Gianna.
The 37-year-old widow of the NBA legend posed with daughters Natalia, 17, Bianka, 3, and Capri, eight months, at the Los Angeles site of a mural painted of Kobe, 41, and Gianna, 13.
Vanessa captioned the photo with the lyrics of Nat King Cole's 1954 hit 'Smile', showing how she's coping with the grief in these trying times.
Kobe and Gianna lost their lives with seven others in a January 26 helicopter crash in Calabasas, California.
The song, penned by John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons in 1954, was adapted from Charlie Chaplin's soundtrack for his 1936 blockbuster Modern Times.
"Smile though your heart is aching/ Smile even though it's breaking/ When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by/ If you smile through your fear and sorrow/ Smile and maybe tomorrow/ You'll see the sun come shining through for you," the lyrics read.
"Light up your face with gladness/ Hide every trace of sadness/ Although a tear may be ever so near/ That's the time you must keep on trying/ Smile, what's the use of crying?/ You'll find that life is still worthwhile/ If you just smile," the song continues.
Vanessa shared a heartwarming photo of her eldest daughter Natalia posing in front of the mural on Sunday. "❤️my babies. Natalia. #winterformal," she wrote in the caption.
According to UK's Daily Mail, the mother and daughter decided to stop and pose for the snap on their way to Natalia's high school winter formal dance in Los Angeles. The 17-year-old flashed a big smile as she stood in front of the painted mural wearing a cute blue and white patterned dress.
The artwork shows her father giving a kiss on the top of Gianna's head with a golden halo above them. The mural is based on a famous photo of the beloved pair from when they sat courtside at an NBA game in November 2019. This was just two months before they tragically passed away.
