In this week's 'Van Helsing', Hansen's secrets are revealed and Fort Collins may come under threat from a full-fledged vampire attack.

'Van Helsing' Season 4's fourth episode 'Broken Promises' introduced a dangerous new enemy for Vanessa Van Helsing (Kelly Overton). Michaela (Heather Doerksen), the Third Bride of Dracula, has now been released from her slumber and the episode ended with the vampire queen traveling to Fort Collins with Sam (Christopher Heyerdahl) and the Oracle (Jesse Stanley), which is definitely bad news for all the humans who have taken refuge in the Black Tek facility.

The only person who seems to have noticed the arrival of the vampires is the former vamp Julius (Aleks Paunovich). However, as resilient as Julius is, there's no way he could hope to stand against the combined power of Michaela, the Oracle, and the Fourth Elder.

We don't yet know what the vampire elders are doing at Fort Collins but it has been consistently teased that the Black Tek agent Hansen (Neal McDonough) has a dark secret that he has been hiding from both his allies and his enemies. It's possible that the episode will shed some light on what that secret is and the synopsis for the episode teases the revelation of some connection between Hansen and the Dark One. Here's the full (and brief) synopsis for the episode: "Sam and the Brides arrive at Fort Collins, where Hansen reveals a secret for raising the Dark One."

Meanwhile, Flesh (Vincent Gale) and Jolene (Caroline Cave) are still prisoners at Loveland, being tortured by the psychopathic warden Max (Richard Harmon). In a sneak peek for the episode that was released by Syfy on October 19, Max threatens to kill Jolene so she can't tell Black Tek about his secret smuggling business but Jolene calls his bluff saying there's no way Max can outrun Black Tek's spies.

However, Max hints that there may be more forces at work than we've seen so far, saying that Black Tek aren't the only people with spies and soldiers in the field. We don't know what exactly he's talking about yet but there's a pretty good chance that it might have something to do with Max's mysterious buyer in the East to whom he has been smuggling drugs, weapons, and prisoners.

It's really only a matter of time before the warden's patience runs out and he decides to kill off Jolene. Hopefully, Axel Miller (Jonathan Scarfe) can find some allies and stage a rescue in time to save his old associates.

'Van Helsing' Season 4 Episode 5 'Liberty or Death' will air on Syfy October 25.
