‘Unpolished’: Why are the Martone ladies lost without Big Mike? Fans say 'never leave all to spouse'

The latest episode of 'Unpolished' saw the ladies seek the help of a medium, in order to talk to Big Mike from beyond the grave

Losing a loved one is never easy. It takes a toll on you emotionally and mentally, especially if you were not ready to say goodbye — and no one ever truly is. The Martone ladies were not ready to say goodbye to Big Mike, seeing that his death was both, untimely and tragic. Lexi, Bria and Jenn Martone spoke about just how difficult those months were — the pandemic, Big Mike finding out he had cancer to his passing, the women were overwhelmed.

With Salon Martone back up and running, the three of them seem to be moving on with their lives, trying to make the most of the situation while in a pandemic. That being said, fans saw Jennifer worry while dealing with the family bills and expenses — something that Big Mike always handled. Jennifer claims that while he was alive, she never had to worry about money, he always took care of her and the girls, but now, having to plan and pay for Bria's wedding while running the salon seems like a daunting task.

Jennifer tries to talk to Lexi and Bria about what they should do next, but the only outcome of that situation was that the sisters began butting head — while Lexi reasoned that their resources should be used to keep the salon up and running in order to maintain a cash flow, Bria was adamant that she deserves her special day, Jennifer resolved the issue saying that Bria would have her wedding, they just need to figure this out together and what better way to do so than with Big Mike's help.

She decides that she needs a psychic medium to help her talk to her husband from beyond the grave, seeing that she has two very important questions. She wanted to know if she made the right decision by hurrying him with his mother and brother and if there is enough money kept aside to handle the family bills and pay for Bria's wedding. The family gets a psychic medium and while Lexi seems skeptical, she figures that if this is the best way for her sister and mother to heal, then so be it. Fans were quick to hop on to Twitter to discuss the episode — the most important take away was definitely financial independence.

"This is why i will never leave EVERYTHING in my spouses hands. im not scrambling to live when they die #Unpolishe," said a fan, talking about how important it is to be financially free. "I think Jen and the girls might be in for a rude financial awakening! Big Mike was “private” about the business and money, mortgages etc!! Don’t make me say it....#Unpolished" said another, implying that there are multiple red flags.

"This is really sad. Married for 30 years and didn’t have super important conversations about really basic things. #Unpolished" said another, pointing out how important communication truly is. Others just seemed disappointed at the ultimate lost opportunity, seeing that the Martone could have contacted Teresa Caputo, star of 'Long Island Medium', giving us the ultimate crossover. "I think we missed an opportunity for a crossover with @Theresacaputo the Long Island Medium. #unpolished @leximartone" tweeted a fan. "Not gonna lie, I was thinking of a different #LongIslandMedium to help the lovely Martone ladies on #Unpolished ;)" said another. "I was hoping they would of used the Teresa Caputo for this reading #Unpolished" — said a user, reinforcing that we missed a golden chance.

Big Mike interestingly did have a few messages from beyond the grave — 'he' said that Bria would be having twin girls, showed his support for Lexi's potential new prosecco line (one that she hadn't discussed publicly yet) and reassured his wife that money would be on its way. At the end of the episode, we see Jennifer find out about two accounts that possibly held money, ones that she was unaware of. By the look of it, she seemed shocked at the status of said accounts, but we'll only know the truth behind them in the next episode!
