While trends on TikTok are always fascinating to try no matter how bizarre they prove to be, one such trend has apparently spread through the Internet like wildfire. This trend does not require you to make a DIY or climb a dangerous cliff or fall down from it. Most of all it is not even a part of a challenge that forces you out of your comfort zone. In fact, it's a far more sanitary showering trend that requires you to unpeel more than just your clothes.

If you could have one fruit in the shower what would it be? So before we judge you by your fruit fetish, here's the truth about the new 'spa-like' trend. According to the new fruity TikTok trend, eating an orange in the shower is not as bad as one thinks it could be. Anyhow before we get into the details we want you to know this trend is completely safe and requires nothing but oranges.

What is the eating orange TikTok trend?

While the trend is as simple as its name, it only involves eating an orange in the shower. All you have to do is unpeel an orange and eat it, but why is this a thing? How does this help? Apparently, the steam from the hot water intensifies the citrusy scent, boosts your mood, and reduces stress and anxiety. Of course, you could just buy some orange-scented body wash or candles for the same experience but sadly, that is not the trending topic on TikTok.

However, how you decide to begin the practice entirely lies on your preference. People who are already hooked on the trend have gone ballistic, most of them making all kinds of claims, that it brings “unbridled joy," and offers a “spa-like experience,” according to New York Post. Well, one user even went on to claim that it was “the most liberating act of food consumption ever.”

"People are trying out the TikTok trend of eating oranges in the shower because, supposedly, the shower’s heat enhances the smell and taste of oranges,” said registered dietician and nutrition writer Alyssa Northrop. "The shower humidity may grab the essential oils of the orange, especially released when peeling it, and circulate the smell around the especially small space of the shower,” said registered dietitian nutritionist Dawn Jackson Blatner, according to Original. newsbreak.

How did the orange trend originate?

Although the original creator of the trend is not known web sleuths have pointed the trend is a spin-off of a 2015 Reddit post from an account that has been deleted. The now-deleted user explained how great "shower oranges" are. And no later than 2015, the "Shower Orange" subreddit was created, according to the source.
