'Two fabulous women!' Robin Roberts praised for her candid interview with Kerry Washington away from 'GMA'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Good Morning America’ star Robin Roberts recently promoted her special interview with actress Kerry Washington after missing another episode of the morning show.
The 62-year-old missed Tuesday’s broadcast (September 26) and was later replaced by fill-in host Linsey Davis.
Roberts was instead filming an interview with Washington for ABC’s program ’20/20’ which is renowned for its true crime stories and uncovering celebrity scandals.
The ‘GMA’ star did an all-exclusive interview with Washington, allowing the actress to open up about her past traumas and life experiences and in turn, gaining some much-deserved praise from her fans.

Roberts’ interview with Washington was revelatory, to say the least. During the 20/20 special on Sunday, ‘Scandal' star Washington opened up to Roberts ahead of the release of her memoir, ‘Thicker Than Water.’
The actress spoke about her childhood, family life, and what drew her to acting. She also mentioned that though she belonged to a “family of performers, she was the first one who got paid for it.”
Roberts moderated the interview beautifully asking Washington about her secret wedding and the highs and lows of her Hollywood life.

The ‘GMA’ star took to Instagram to acknowledge her interaction with the actress by making one dedicated post for her.
She captioned this post, “So many moments that got us!”
“Washington got candid about her life and struggles before finding fame, how she's searching for her 'authentic self' while also trying to track down her biological father, how she kept her wedding a secret, and why motherhood is the most important role she has ever played,” she added.

‘The Django Unchained’ star also revealed during the interview that her dad was not her biological father.
The actress also spoke about her eating disorder and being sexually assaulted when she was a child.
