BUCHAREST, ROMANIA: Tristan Tate, a self-proclaimed social media influencer known for his controversial views, recently posted on the platform 'X' (formerly Twitter), surprising his followers with what appeared to be an expression of support for Russian President Vladimir Putin's remarks regarding Gaza.

Tate's recent comments have primarily focused on expressing solidarity with Palestinians amidst the Israel conflict. He has consistently emphasized his concern for the children who are affected by the war.

In a recent post on the platform X (formerly Twitter), Tate shared an image of Russian President Vladimir Putin with a statement that read, "Gaza horror 'cannot be justified by anything' - Putin"

Tate posting Putin's statement appeared to suggest his support for Russia's stance on Gaza.

The ongoing conflict involving Israel has become a source of global concern. Many individuals have voiced their anxieties regarding the loss of life during the conflict and called for a peaceful resolution.

However, this issue has also polarized opinions, with some criticizing Israel for their retaliatory attacks and others supporting Palestine as civilian deaths in Gaza skyrocket.

In a recent address at a Kremlin meeting with Russian religious leaders of various faiths, as reported by Al Jazeera, Russian President Vladimir Putin shared his perspective on the war.

Putin emphasized, “Our task today, our main task, is to stop the bloodshed and violence. Further escalation of the crisis is fraught with grave and extremely dangerous and destructive consequences."

"And not only for the Middle East region. It could spill over far beyond the borders of the Middle East," the Russian leader added.

Furthermore, as per Al Jazeera, Putin expressed his belief that certain parties were deliberately stoking chaos and mutual hatred, not only in the Middle East but also in other regions, by exploiting national and religious sentiments.

According to Al Jazeera, Putin extended his condolences to the families of Israelis and citizens of other countries who had suffered injury or loss due to the conflict.

He reiterated Moscow's support for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian issue, viewing it as the only viable path to a long-term resolution.

However, he firmly criticized Israel for its continuous bombing of Gaza in response to Hamas attacks on Israeli citizens.

As per Al Jazeera, Putin stated, “It is also clear to us that innocent people should not be held responsible for crimes committed by others."

"The fight against terrorism cannot be conducted according to the notorious principle of collective responsibility when old people, women, children, entire families and hundreds of thousands of people are left without shelter, food, water, electricity and medical care,” said Putin.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also weighed in on the Israel conflict in an interview with the Belarusian state news agency Belta, as reported by Al Jazeera.

Lavrov stated, "While we condemn terrorism, we categorically disagree that you can respond to terrorism by violating the norms of international humanitarian law, including indiscriminately using force against targets where civilians are known to be present, including hostages that have been taken."

According to Al Jazeera, Lavrov argued that it was impossible to eradicate Hamas, as Israel had pledged to do, without causing widespread destruction in Gaza and affecting its civilian population significantly.

He emphasized, “If Gaza is destroyed and two million inhabitants are expelled, as some politicians in Israel and abroad propose, this will create a catastrophe for many decades, if not centuries."

"It is necessary to stop, and to announce humanitarian programmes to save the population under blockade,” Lavrov added.

The Russian president, who has been leading an extensive military campaign in neighboring Ukraine since February last year, left many people worldwide puzzled with his recent statement on the situation.
