Tristan Tate backs Conor McGregor's idea of 'torturing' Dublin stabbing accused: 'I super like him'

Conor McGregor asserted his belief that the culprit of the Dublin stabbing should be punished with 'torture and death'

BUCHAREST, ROMANIA: Tristan Tate has expressed support for Conor McGregor's extreme stance regarding the punishment of the culprit in the recent stabbing incident that shook Dublin city in Ireland.

Conor McGregor's response garnered praise from Tristan Tate, who openly expressed his admiration for the Irishman. Tate's comment, "I’ve always liked Conor, but now I super like him," indicates that McGregor's stance on the issue has made him an admirable figure in Tate's eyes.

After news broke of the incident, leading to public outcry, the UFC fighter took to social media to share his thoughts on the appropriate punishment for the accused individual.

McGregor's coach John Kavanagh set the ball rolling on the discussion about the appropriate quantum of punishment for the criminal act. He took to X, formerly Twitter, to ask, "So what should happen with this demented scumbag who attacked women and kids today? Few years in jail at our expense to get out and repeat??"

The coach then gave his own thoughts on the matter, noting that he believes the culprit "needs to be deported immediately and never allowed back or just hang him, there's no "fixing" him."

McGregor backed his coach, suggesting a severe measure for the one responsible for the attack, simply writing, "Torture and death."

Five injured in Dublin riot

Several people were attacked in a stabbing spree in the Irish capital including three children and two adults, on Thursday afternoon, November 23. All five had to be hospitalized.

Among the three injured children, one of them — a five-year-old girl, received life-threatening injuries and is still battling for her life.

The attacks that also left a woman in her 30s and a man in his 40s seriously injured, took place on Parnell Square East in the city center, outside Gaelscoil Choláiste Mhuire.

BBC sources indicate the man suspected of carrying out the attack is an Irish citizen who has lived in the country for 20 years. The police have arrested a suspect. 

The knife attacks in Dublin resulted in vehicles burning and shops being looted as mobs took over the streets.

Around 200 people, according to Justice Minister Helen McEntee, "wreaked havoc across the city."

With hashtags such as "Ireland is Full" and "Ireland for the Irish," far-right groups and activists trolled immigrants, asylum seekers, and non-white people in general, justified the violence as a proportionate response to the stabbing, as well as blaming "non-Irish" people for looting.

Tristan Tate's response to Conor McGregor's stance on the recent incident in Dublin has sparked varied reactions on X (formerly Twitter).

Supporters expressed agreement and appreciation for McGregor's straightforward approach, lauding him for using his platform to voice what he believes is necessary for Ireland. One user wrote, "Connor would fight the enemy hand to hand, one by one. Connor knows what Ireland needs. Some of their politicians just dont know." 

Supporters of Tristan Tate also commended the UFC star for using his platform to voice his opinion, as one person wrote, "Absolute G using his platform for good."

Another user noted about McGregor, "He is simple and straightforward! That ticks off some people." 

"Damn Connor really loving this free speech" another user commented.
