NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA: The later governor Edwin Edwards’ widow will soon remarry as she has reportedly decided to exchange vows with Edwin’s close friend, John Alario. It has been said that her would-be-husband is 79 and also the former state Senate president and House speaker.

As per The Advocate, the pair will say “I do” to each other on June 1 at the State Supreme Court Building in New Orleans. Trina, who is 44 years old, apparently did not want a big wedding, which will be officiated by Louisiana Supreme Court Chief Justice John L. Weimer.

‘He's smart and funny'

The 44-year-old mother-of-three has also expressed her fondness for Alario as she said, “John has so many amazing qualities. He's smart and funny. He's always kind and has such a wonderful and loving spirit. He's a great dad so I have no doubt he will be a great stepfather to Eli.”

“I feel blessed to have found someone to love, who loves not only me but also my children. I am looking forward to this next chapter in our lives. I truly am lucky!” Trina stated.

‘People wouldn't take our relationship seriously'

This comes after earlier the long-time hairdresser shared that it was not her but Alario who wanted to get married. She told The Advocate in August last year, “I didn't want to get married, but he would only live with me if we were married. He said people wouldn't take our relationship seriously otherwise.”

Also, in July 2022, during an interview on Jim Engster’s Talk Louisiana show, Trina spoke of Edwin. She reportedly shared, “I miss him. It’s been a while since I heard his voice, I guess. He was so compassionate and kind all the time. He never lost his temper.”

She also went on to reveal her chats with Edwin before his death. Trina added, “He would say, ‘I think you should marry so-and-so after I die.’ And one time I said, ‘I don’t know. What about John Alario?’ And he said, ‘Oh, no. Not him.’ And I said, ‘Why’s that?’ He said, ‘He doesn’t have any money.’ I said, ‘Well, you don’t have any money.’ He said, ’Oh, yeah, I guess you’re right. Do what you want.’”

‘Don’t know who I’m more embarrassed for'

Meanwhile, Trina and Alario’s wedding news has attracted some not-so-kind attention online with a user tweeting, “I could be next.” The second user wrote, “Jesus two losers who think they invented sunshine.” The third one said, “John, give her some of that casino boat money her ex-husband sent your way- the deal that made you so nervous you were hospitalized.”

“Thought that was grandpa and grand daughter,” the fourth user shared and the fifth one added, “Don’t know who I’m more embarrassed for …. Him of her😩.”
