NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Drew Barrymore was brutally trolled online for kneeling down and comforting transgender TikToker Dylan Mulvaney. The incident happened on 'The Drew Barrymore Show ' as the duo discussed how they handle online hate.

The transgender TikToker can be heard telling Barrymore, "The greatest weapon I can contribute is trans joy and comedy and talking about hard subjects and really intricate moments of a transition, and try to let everybody in to see that I’m not a monster. I’m not somebody that is anything but trying to be myself and be happy.”

Further, she said, "It’s interesting because I look at someone like you and I can’t imagine anybody disliking you.” To which, Barrymore responded by kneeling and comforting her, “Oh, please. Do you want to know, ironically, who dislikes me the most sometimes? Myself.”

Why is Dylan Mulvaney so controversial?

Mulvaney became famous for documenting her firsts after being a woman in a series called 'Days of girlhood' on TikTok. She has recently met President Joe Biden at his oval office to discuss issues related to transgenders. In the video, where Mulvaney documented her experience of meeting the president, she said, "Do you think I just knock on the front door?" Later, the model said, "The President of the United States gave me a cookie." After the meeting, she claimed, "I left with a lot of hope and optimism, not only for just trans people, but many different topics, It's kind of epic, I've had a rough go of it lately, a lot of darkness, and today was what I needed to keep going."

Mulvaney became famous when she got her new driving license with “X” written as her sex. She said, “I’m opening it up for the first time and realizing how privileged I am to live in a state that will let me do this and to be one of the first people to have it.”

She also claimed in one of her videos, "I would consider myself right now, hyper-feminine. Like, I feel like a bimbo. I feel like a Barbie doll sometimes and I think right now that’s what I need to do for my inner child because I never got to wear the pretty dresses.  I never got to put on the makeup. And so now, it’s almost as if I’m like, reliving my younger self, as per Daily Mail.

'This is not real'

The Internet quickly reacted to Barrymore's act. A user said, "Drew Barrymore getting on her knees to worship at the feet of Dylan Mulvaney might be one of more disturbing moments of recent TV. Why are women fawning over men who appropriate degrading caricatures of womanhood?"

"Drew Barrymore kneels before Dylan Mulvaney - another clown who wears womanhood like a cheap costume, trivialising it, turning it into a grotesque pantomime. Barrymore is a disgrace. A Hungarian doesn’t kneel before anyone — least of all this thing!" added another.

"You know who dislikes you both right now the most? Me," claimed another. "This is not real," said one user. "He’s not gonna date you, Drew," trolled a user. Another noted, "Didn't watch her show before and will never watch it now."

"And the Oscar for most pathetic performance goes to...," wrote another. A comment read, "We are in the end times." A tweet read, "Not even funny anymore—it’s detestable." "I think it’s time for Drew Barryless," wrote a user.
