Tory Lanez faces 22 years jail for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, Internet says 'thought sentence would be shorter'

The felony complaint reveals the real name of Tory Lanez which is Daystar Peterson and if convicted he faces a maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months in prison

Tory Lanez is surely not having one of his good days as the American rapper has been charged with shooting artist Megan Thee Stallion by the Los Angeles prosecutors. The case goes back to July 2020 when the ‘Say It’ hit-maker apparently shot the female emcee in her feet during a fight in the Hollywood Hills.

According to the Daily Mail, the rapper now faces two felony charges ie assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. He also faces a gun allegation and that he personally inflicted great bodily injury. Now, if the 28-year-old rapper gets convicted in the case, he might face a maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months in prison.

The felony complaint also reveals the real name of  Lanez which is Daystar Peterson and interestingly, the rapper had released his new album a few days ago titled ‘DAYSTAR’ in which he addressed the entire gunfire incident and also dissed Megan. While his charges did create some uproar on social media, it was his name which has become the butt of jokes. 

One social media user said, “All the clowns talkin about “free Tory” and “Tory innocent”!! Y’all got the picture of Megan’s foot, doctors report, police report, THE VIDEO OF MEGAN BLEEDING AND LIMPING!!! Enjoy seeing your fave go to PRISON!! #Daystar #DamnTory” One person said, “His momma need to be arrested for naming him “Daystar!” Another individual added, “When I hear DayStar I immediately think about the Christian TV channel lol!”

One social media user tweeted, “The other inmates about to have a blast calling him Daystar” One person posted, “Anyone w the name Daystar Peterson deserves to be in the slammer” Another one said, “Y’all must didn’t hear drake diss mr daystar on do not disturb. His name isn’t new . That’s how I found it out”

Lanez has been in news since July 2020 after the gunfire incident. In his new album ‘DAYSTAR,’ the rapper dissed Megan on almost all the tracks where he also explained what really happened during the gunfire incident. In the song ‘Money Over Fallouts’, he goes like, “How you get shot in the foot and it ain’t hit no bones or tendons?” In another song called ‘Friends Become Strangers,” the rapper alludes to his private conversations with Megan and reverts to her claims about the night of the alleged shooting. He raps, “We both know what happened that night and what I did.”

Most on social media have welcomed the new turn the case has taken with quite a few tweets reflecting the words 'he deserves it' ."Tory Lanez traumatized Megan. Tory gaslighted Megan. Tory used Megan’s pain for album sales. Tory isn’t remorseful for inflicting violence on someone who didn’t deserve it. That’s a dangerous person and he deserves jail time."

The midget jokes were also there in plenty, considering his height. One said: "And the midget Tory Lanez getting arrested and convicted yasssss." While another joked: "Damn Tory Lanez is facing 22 years in prison for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot. Honestly I thought his sentence would’ve been... ... shorter."

Lanez is scheduled to be arraigned on October 13 at the Folz Criminal Justice Center.
