The rumblings about Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott's marital problems have been going on for some time. Tori and Dean are still 'attempting' to work things out for the sake of their children, said a source.
"Tori and Dean are still going through a rough patch and a tough space. It's been difficult for them," the source told ET on Wednesday, January 19. The source continued, "Things aren't great between them, but they are still attempting to work things out for the sake of their kids." Tori and Dean have five children - 14-year-old Liam, 13-year-old Stella, 10-year-old Hattie, 9-year-old Finn and 4-year-old Beau.

The news on the couple's relationship status arrived just weeks after Tori spent New Year's Eve without Dean. The 48-year-old actress vacationed in snowy Lake Arrowhead, California, posting several photos of the trip with her kids, from which Dean was noticeably absent. The actress captioned the post, "In Lake Arrowhead Village. Same pic I’ve taken for 13 years. Love my big beautiful family. They teach me everyday how to be the human I want to be."
At the time, Dean took to Instagram to set the record straight and said he was "sick as a dog" with pneumonia. "Happy New year Everyone!!! I'm down but not out!! Pneumonia sucks, but I'm not going to let it dampen my spirits!!" the 'Dead Again in Tombstone' actor captioned the clip, before concluding his post, "I hope your 2022 is full of love, light and prosperity. Much love to you all."
Dean was also missing from the family's Christmas card. In the card, which Tori shared on Instagram, the 'Beverly Hills, 90210' alum posed alongside her five children in the holiday photo which she said was from "Tori & Family." A source told ET in November that the couple has been sleeping in separate rooms.
A few days later, Tori revealed that her family tested positive for Covid-19, including Dean. On January 7, revealing her diagnosis, the actress said she felt "useless" as a parent. "Nothing is worse than wanting to care for your little ones but feeling so sick you can barely function yourself," she expressed her frustration. The 'True Tori' star continued, "Devastated. A mom is supposed to take care of their kiddos when sick. That's how it works."
Then on January 8, Dean candidly shared that he feared he would need to be placed on a ventilator. "This is the first place I'm going once I get over COVID!! I've got to be honest, this scared the s**t out of me. My breathing was so compromised I thought I was going to be put on a ventilator," he wrote in an Instagram post.
The source said, "Tori and Dean do things as a family for the sake of their kids and live in the same house but sleep in separate rooms," the source said. "Tori is more vocal about what goes on between them, and Dean is just completely checked out."
Adding that the couple is "very much struggling," the source noted that it was Dean's continued alleged infidelities that have hurt the marriage most. "Dean has been caught in so many lies and infidelities over the years and Tori is just over it," the source added. "Dean does not want to get divorced because of financial reasons, and Tori doesn't want to for the sake of their family."
