Bette Davis and Joan Crawford
Davis and Crawford were two of the biggest movie stars during Hollywood's Golden Era. The fight between the two screen legends began in 1935 when Davis fell in love with her 'Dangerous' co-star Franchot Tone during filming. However, Crawford and Tone got engaged during filming and eventually got married in 1935. This gave rise to one of the most famous rivalries that Hollywood has ever seen. This feud came to the fore during the filming of 'Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?'
The two played all sorts of tricks on each other, including beating and trying to upstage the other. Davis eventually was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for her performance in the movie but she lost to Anne Bancroft. Crawford contrived a plan and went on stage to take the Oscar on Bancroft's behalf, in what reports claim was a slight to Davis. The only time Davis showed some sympathy for Crawford was when the latter's daughter wrote a scathing memoir about living with the Hollywood star.
Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie
Hilton and Richie were an iconic duo when they starred in the reality show 'The Simple Life' in 2003. However, their bonhomie turned sour in 2005. Hilton said that time to PEOPLE, “It’s no big secret that Nicole and I are no longer friends. Nicole knows what she did, and that’s all I am ever going to say about it." The two friends reconciled during Season 5 of 'The Simple Life' and have continued to be friends.
Taylor Swift and Kanye West
This is one of the biggest feuds of all time that is still spoen about. The fight started when when West interrupted Swift's acceptance speech at the VMA’s in 2009. Swift went on to pen 'Innocent' for her album 'Speak Now', in response to West's subsequent apology. Things seemed okay between till 2016, when West dropped 'Famous' from his album 'The Life of Pablo'. The song had lyrics that went, "For all my Southside n****s that know me best/I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that b***h famous/I made that b***h famous." This led to another feud. At that time, West and his ex-wife Kim Kardashian claimed Swift was OK with the lyrics but the 'Red' singer said otherwise. The two may have moved on but the world, especially the Swifties and West's fans, have not forgotten.
Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker
Cattrall and Parker played close friends on 'Sex and the City' but in real life, things were the opposite. Rumors of a feud between between the two had been going around for quite some time when Cattrall said she was done with her 'Sex and the City' character, Samantha, after the second movie based on the popular TV series, and a third movie in the franchise was canned.
When Cattrall's brother died, she posted an Instagram post about the same. Parker offered her condolences but Cattrall snapped back with, "Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona."
David Letterman and Jay Leno
The feud between Letterman and Leno is among biggest feuds in the late night talk show history when Johnny Carson said that he was leaving NBC’s show in 1992. Letterman was hosting his own show on the same network at that time, and he expected to be Carson's replacement. However, Leono was placed in his stead. Letterman left NBC soon after. The bitter rivalry between them was known as the "Late Night Wars” and they became competitors to each other.
