Apple TV+ is bringing a brand new comedy mystery series that promises to induce laughs as the murder of a famous pop star is solved by a quirky detective hell-bent on finding the killer.

'The Afterparty' stars a slew of comedians and actors that play the suspects in the upcoming whodunnit that are present when a high school reunion afterparty goes awry, so audiences can expect some quality content. 1. 'Murder on the Orient Express' (1974)

Based on the book by Agatha Christie who is well known for her mystery-filled works, this movie takes us through the intricacies of a crime that occurs in a train. As fate has it the luxury train gets stranded in the snow forming the perfect opportunity for detective Hercule Poirot to come in and solve the mystery of a murder that occurred the previous night with the suspect list a long one. The suspects are portrayed by an all-star cast, including Lauren Bacall, Ingrid Bergman, Sean Connery, John Gielgud, Vanessa Redgrave, and more with the movie going on to win numerous accolades for the cast as well as the story which include the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Bergman as well as 5 other Academy Award nominations. One of the best whodunnits out there, the movie is also got a newer version in 2017, but the 1974 film remains superior.



 

2. 'Knives Out' (2019)

2019 saw the release of the movie that took lovers of the genre as well as the general public by storm. The movie follows a master detective played by none other than our beloved 007 Daniel Craig, investigating the death of the patriarch of a wealthy and dysfunctional family, with each of the members having secret agendas making them the prime suspects. With a brilliant cast that includes Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Christopher Plummer, Ana De Armas, and more the murder mystery received critical acclaim, multiple Golden Globe Awards nominations as well as the Academy Awards for its screenplay, direction, and acting. A massive commercial hit, there's a part 2 in the works with the first movie being available on Netflix.



 

3. 'Zodiac' (2007)

This whodunnit flick is based on a true crime story and revolves around the infamous Zodiac Killer case. The  2007 mystery thriller film follows the hunt for a serial killer who has evaded the police every time and added salt to the wound with taunts and more. Boating of a cast that includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo and Robert Downey Jr the movie will make you hold your breath as you watch them desperately try and crack the mystery. 'Zodiac' is a unique whodunnit as until the end you don't find out who is actually responsible for the killings which remains as one of the USA's most infamous unsolved crimes.



 

'The Afterparty' premieres with three episodes on January 28 on Apple TV+ with new episodes to follow weekly.
