Top 10 actors to watch for: From Cody Fern and Lachlan Watson to Kaylee Bryant

This year has seen some incredible talent from these young actors. So what should we expect from them in 2019? Let's take a look.
UPDATED JUN 4, 2021

Asher Angel

2019 is pretty packed for 16 year old Asher Angel, who will be starring in DC's 'Shazam!' as William Batson, a normal guy turned superhero with powers on par with Superman. Angel was the face of Disney's 'Andi Mack' this year and tells Meaww that he's totally pumped up for the new year. "I am looking forward to the release of Shazam, recording and releasing new music and identifying new and challenging acting projects that provide me the platform to further pursue my love of the craft," he says. As for the next year, he hopes that he gets to work with Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio.

Jack Dylan Grazer

Jack Dylan has two huge movies lined up next year - 'It: Chapter Two' and DC's 'Shazam!'. "I look forward to continuing to learn on my career path as an actor working alongside great actors and directors," says the star, who has already worked with the likes of 'Lights Out' director David F. Sandberg. He also hopes that he can score a project alongside Leonardo DiCaprio or Martin Scorsese.

Dianne Doan

Dianne Doan is set to star in the second season of Cinemax's 'Warrior'. "We've worked so hard on season one, and I'm so excited for the audience to see it! It means so much to me to be able to carry on Bruce Lee's legacy to his existing fan base but also a new generation," she tells Meaww talking about the TV show. As for next year, she hopes to work with Lucas Hedges. "I'm such a fan of his work and also his choice in projects. The films tackle such sensitive subject matters but with so much humanity."

Cody Fern

'American Horror Story' alum Cody Fern is definitely someone to watch out for in the coming year. He was the star of Ryan Murphy's horror saga this year as well as the incredibly successful 'The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story'. As for next year, he's ready to embrace it all he tells Meaww. "Right now, I'm trying to stay focused on the present and resist projecting myself into the future. I'm taking each moment as it comes without expectation, including whatever lies ahead in 2019. Whatever comes, I can tell you this much, I'll embrace it all." He's looking forward to working with Sarah Paulson and Kathy Bates again. "I miss them both terribly," he says,"But if it were someone new - Cate Blanchett or Meryl Streep."

Kaylee Bryant

Kaylee Bryant cannot get enough of her ongoing show 'Legacies' and hopes that they continue working together next year. "I love working with my 'Legacies' family and I'm hoping we get to work together more in 2019 - with a season two pick up!" she tells Meaww. "I'm also looking forward to new film opportunities! I'm hoping to do an indie during my hiatus, and I would really love to play someone different from Josie. Josie and I are actually very similar, so I think it would be super cool if I could play someone totally opposite who I could research and learn about," she says. She is hoping she can score a gig with Tatiana Maslany and confesses that she's a huge fan of 'Orphan Black.'

Danielle Rose Russell

Danielle Rose Russell has had a phenomenal year. After starring in CW's 'The Originals', the 19-year-old scored her own spin-off called 'Legacies', a show that takes a step further down the supernatural universe and follows the new generation of creatures as they figure out their destinies. Her power-packed performance on the show has raised our hopes up - watch out for great things from Russell in the upcoming year!

Tati Gabrielle

The 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' star is looking forward to booking a feature film in 2019. "And possibly starting some philanthropic projects that I've been brewing. I think that's next on my bucket list of dreams," she tells Meaww. Gabrielle was loved this year as Prudence in the Netflix series as well as Gaia in CW's 'The 100'. She reveals that she's looking forward to working with bff Ashton Sanders. "He's been one of my best friends for almost 10 years now and we've grown up discussing our dreams and aspirations. So it would be an incredible full circle to be able to do a project together."

Dominique Fishback

Dominique Fishback wowed us in HBO's porn saga 'The Deuce' this year and she's set to star in an untitled Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman sci-fi project the next year. Fishback, who also starred in 'The Hate You Give', 'Random Acts of Flyness' and 'Night Comes On' will be starring in the upcoming project alongside Rodrigo Santoro, Machine Gun Kelly, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Jamie Foxx.

Noah Centineo

After the roller coaster of a year Noah Centineo has had, he's back to the screen next year with multiple projects. Apart from a 'To All The Boys' sequel, he will be starring in 'Charlie's Angels', 'The Diary', 'The Stand In' and 'The Good Trouble'.

Lachlan Watson

We couldn't get enough of Lachlan Watson this year and hopefully she will be back with more next year. Watson, who identifies as non-binary, played a non-binary character on Netflix's 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' named Susie Putnam and bowled everyone over. Definitely someone to look out for next year!
