Too short for Disney? Jimmy Fallon takes jab at Ron DeSantis' rumored heel lifts with epic joke
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a recent episode of 'The Tonight Show', host Jimmy Fallon couldn't resist poking fun at Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who has recently been in the news for rumors about his footwear.
The playful jest comes just one day after DeSantis adamantly denied allegations that he might be enhancing his height by wearing shoe lifts.
Political humorists have field day with Ron DeSantis' heel lift rumors
The speculation about DeSantis' footwear preferences gained traction due to the peculiar fit of the shoes he has sported since announcing his run for the presidency.
Social media platforms, from TikTok to Twitter, have been abuzz with comments, even prompting jests from Democratic opposition researchers and even former Trump aide Jason Miller, who shared a Politico article about DeSantis's footwear on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
DeSantis addressed these rumors during a podcast interview with Patrick Bet-David on the PBD Podcast.
He straightforwardly explained, "Those are just standard, off-the-rack Lucchese boots," referencing the cowboy boots he wore during his appearance on 'Real Time With Bill Maher'.
However, when Bet-David presented him with a pair of Ferragamo shoes, DeSantis had declined from trying them on, citing campaign rules that prohibit him from accepting gifts.
Jimmy Fallon's hilarious take on DeSantis' footwear controversy
Jimmy Fallon, known for his sharp humor and impeccable comedic timing, seized the opportunity to jest about the situation during his monologue.
He quipped, "Maybe that's why he hates Disney. They won't let him ride any of the rides."
Fallon's witty comment humorously suggested that DeSantis was too short to enjoy Disneyland's rides that have strict height restrictions to avoid accidents.
The audience's response was just as expected, with bursts of laughter, cheers, and applause filling the studio.
In his defense, Governor DeSantis has maintained that he stands at a height of 5'11".
Nonetheless, this statement has raised skepticism among some who continue to speculate about his height, with some saying he is taller and others saying he is shorter.
