LOS ANGELES, CALIFORINIA: Kevin Sorbo claims that cancel culture has hurt his career. In an interview with Fox News, the 64-year-old 'Hercules: The Legendary Journeys' actor alleged Hollywood shunned him due to his Christian beliefs and conservative views.

The native Minnesotan revealed that after he was "blacklisted," he and his agent split up.

He said, "It was sad to me, you know, my manager and agent for so many years said that we can't get you jobs anymore, work with you because of you being a Christian, being a conservative."

"We have such a huge divide in our country right now, and it's perpetuated by the mainstream media, perpetuated by movies, TV," he added. "I don't harbor that kind of anger and hatred towards people. I have a different point of view."

Over the years, the actor has made some debatable statements. In 2014, he responded to accusations that Mel Gibson's 2004 movie 'The Passion of the Christ' was antisemitic by telling Jerry Newcombe on the religious talk show 'Vocal Point', "News bulletin: you did kill Jesus!" according to Christian Today.

He later expressed regret for his choice of words but stood by his opinion, asking, "Did all Jews at that time hate Jesus? Of course they did not. The people screamed to let the hardened criminal go. That's in the book. That's in the facts."

Besides, he disparaged the Ferguson, Missouri protesters after Michael Brown, 18, was killed that same year.

The actor and producer co-founded Sorbo Studios with his wife of 25 years, Sam, 58. The couple have three children, including Braedon, 21, a social media influencer; Shane, 19, and Octavia, 17.

'Miracle in East Texas'

'Miracle in East Texas', the couple's most recent release, tells the true story of two con men who try to convince widows to invest in their worthless oil fields during the Great Depression. The film, which also stars Louis Gossett, Jr and John Ratzenberger, will be released in theatres on October 29 and 30.

The film's makers are urging fans to purchase tickets ahead, taking a leaf from how Angel Studios marketed 'Sound of Freedom, which did well at the box office. They are also urging fans to 'pay it forward' by buying tickets for friends and family.

'Miracle in East Texas' had screenings at several film festivals in 2019. It took home several accolades, including Best Family Film at the International Christian Film Festival and Best Romantic Comedy at the Houston Film Festival, as reported by Daily Mail.
