Tom Holland blames Ryan Reynolds for lockdown drunkenness as he shows Jimmy Kimmel his gin collection
The ongoing lockdown in the majority of the parts of the world due to the pandemic has led to various inhouse experimentation and innovations to stop oneself from relapsing into boredom. Similar, our beloved Spider-Man from the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, Tom Holland has found his ways of dealing with the lockdown, which includes mostly being intoxicated.
The 23-year-old English actor who appeared on Tuesday’s (April 21) episode of ‘Jimmy Kimme Live!’ home edition extensively spoke about his experience during the lockdown in England, which he has been spending with his friends cooped up in their house.
When Kimmel asked Holland how he has been spending his time in isolation and if that has led to any issues with his pals, the actor was quick to respond, “No such issues because we are drunk all the time."
On a lighter note, he further added that he decided to take a break and not drink for a week, but that never happened. Showing Kimmel a bottle of gin, Holland revealed that the ‘Deadpool’ actor Ryan Reynolds sent him a case of 'spider- gin', which he has been getting drunk on for the past few days.
Holland also said that he's been 'productive' of sorts and has been writing a screenplay with his brother Harry that they just sent out to producers. He added that sending the script to people had been nerve-wracking because they might find out that he's "stupid" or "can't spell anything."
When asked if he has been catching up with his fellow ‘Avengers’ actors, Holland said he recently spoke to Jake Gyllenhaal and Facetimed with Robert Downey Jr. while the latter happened to be in the bath. Well, during his social media catch-ups, he challenged co-star Gyllenhaal and the Deadpool star to do shirtless handstands.
The other highlight from the latest episode was Kimmel’s three-year-old son Billy’s birthday, for which the host had big plans, but couldn’t execute any due to the lockdown.
When Kimmel revealed to Holland that he had planned on bringing someone dressed in Spiderman costume home to surprise his son, Holland agreed to throw a surprise for little Billy himself.
In the last segment, when Kimmel’s daughter and son join their father, Holland sang happy birthday to Billy clad in a red sweatshirt, identifying himself as Peter Parker.
Reacting to Holland’s sweet gesture on fan wrote, “This was pretty cool!!! And awesome that @TomHolland1996 agreed to do it!!”
“Awe. Billy’s reaction was so precious. That was so sweet of you to do Tom,” added another.
In other news, Holland's animated Pixar movie "Onward" is being shown some love by audiences sitting at home as it leads the "Trending Titles" on the Disney+ on-demand streaming service. Seems like it will pretty much make up for its poor box-office performance.
‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ airs on all the weekdays on ABC. you can also watch it on Jimmy Kimmel’s official YouTube channel.
