Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson exude charm as they arrive at Maria Shriver's home with $65 bottle of wine
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, known for their joyful and amiable nature, joined Maria Shriver for dinner at her elegant East Coast mansion on June 4. In true classy and considerate fashion, the couple arrived bearing a gift. Wilson was seen carrying a bottle of Orin Swift's Cabernet Papillon wine, a thoughtful gesture valued between $64.99 and $164.99, depending on the vintage.
After parking their vehicle in the upscale suburban neighborhood, the 66-year-old Wilson confidently led the way from the street to the front door. Shriver, the former First Lady of California, acquired the 11,000-square-foot residence in 2011 following her split from ex-husband Arnold Schwarzenegger, which followed the revelation of his extramarital affair with the family's former housekeeper.
Casually classy
Wilson, who is an actress, singer, and producer, opted for casual attire, wearing loose-fitting blue jeans and a dark, three-tone jacket over a white top and sneakers. Her light brown locks were styled with volume, cascading past her shoulders, parted in the middle.
Hanks, 66, appeared fit and trim in fitted black jeans paired with a matching denim jacket over a t-shirt. He completed his look with black leather boots. The two-time Academy Award-winning actor sported a closely cropped salt-and-pepper hairstyle for the occasion. The couple, who celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on April 30, has two children together: Chet, 32, and Truman, 27.
Going stronger
The 66-year-old Los Angeles native Wilson has an extensive acting portfolio, including notable films like 'Volunteers' (1985), 'Now and Then' (1995), 'That Thing You Do!' (1996), 'Jingle All the Way' (1996), 'The Story of Us' (1999), 'Runaway Bride' (1999), 'It's Complicated' (2009), and 'Larry Crowne' (2011). Wilson and Hanks first met on the set of the ABC sitcom ‘Bosom Buddies’ in 1981.
At the time, Hanks was married to his college sweetheart Samantha Lewes, but they finalized their divorce in 1987. The former couple also shares two children: son Colin, 45, and daughter Elizabeth, 41.
According to Dirt, Shriver purchased her gated home for $12.2 million in 2011 and acquired the neighboring midcentury ranch-style structure, built in 1947, for an additional $12 million last year. Combining the properties, Shriver now enjoys over an acre of land on one of Brentwood's most exclusive streets.
