Tom Cruise had opportunity to kick 'Mission: Impossible' co-star in the stomach, but he refused
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: On the set of his movies, Tom Cruise is known to be quite an intense character who never misses an opportunity to give advice even if it's harsh. Nevertheless, he does have some limitations, even after being a tough action star. One such instance was revealed by Pom Klementieff, who told Entertainment Weekly that she gave Cruise permission to kick her in the stomach when they were filming a scene for 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One', but he didn't agree to the task.
Klementieff said, "I kept telling him to just kick me here," the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' star said, pointing at her midsection. "I was squeezing abs. [I said], 'You can just go for it.' He was like, 'No, no, no, no, no.' I was like, 'But it's going to help me!' But he wouldn't do it."
'You're going to be watching her at all times and wondering what she's going to do'
After seeing Klementieff in 'Guardians of the Galaxy', writer and director Christopher McQuarrie decided to cast her in 'Mission: Impossible'. He said that her character is "very, very, very much a chaotic element in the story," adding, "It doesn't matter how deep in the background she is; you're going to be watching her at all times and wondering what she's going to do." 'Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One' will release on July 12, as reported by Uproxx.
About 'Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One'
The espionage action movie 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One' has been produced and directed by McQuarrie and is set to release in July. McQuarrie also co-wrote the script with Erik Jendresen. This film would be the seventh entry in the 'Mission: Impossible' movie series and is a sequel to 'Mission: Impossible - Fallout', which was released in 2018. Alongside Cruise and Klementieff, the movie includes stars like Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Esai Morales, Vanessa Kirby, and Henry Czerny.
Cruise said in January 2019 that the seventh and eighth 'Mission: Impossible' movies would be produced concurrently, with McQuarrie writing and directing both. Soon after, returning and new cast members were revealed. The soundtrack for the film has been written by Lorne Balfe, who also scored 'Fallout'. The Covid-19 outbreak did put a halt on filming that had begun in Italy in February 2020. However, other filming locations, such as Norway, the UK, and the UAE, were used throughout that year, and the task was finished in September 2021.
