‘Today’ unveils major host shake-up as Sheinelle Jones and Dylan Dreyer go missing from NBC show
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Today’ recently underwent a major hosts shake-up as beloved journalists Sheinelle Jones and Dylan Dreyer went missing from the show.
The two co-hosts of the NBC show were replaced by fashion contributor Jill Martin and Jacob Soboroff.
This happened during the '3rd Hour’ segment when Jones and Dreyer were nowhere to be seen and their places were taken by Soboroff and Martin.
NBC meteorologist Al Roker mentioned his co-anchors absence, however, he didn’t reveal the real reason behind it.
Alongside Dreyer and Jones, Hoda Kotb was also missing and was replaced by Craig Melvin and new fill-in Kristen Welker who usually hosts ‘Weekend Today.’
Where are ‘Today’ hosts Sheinelle Jones and Dylan Dreyer?
On Monday, August 28 ‘Today’ Show broadcast, weather reporter Al Roker and Craig Melvin were spotted at their usual seats while Sheinelle Jones and Dylan Dreyer were missing.
Jones was last seen on the NBC show on Friday (August 25) while Dreyer had been absent since August 23.
While Jill Martin and Jacob Soboroff filled in for the missing hosts, Al opened up about it on the show.
He said, “Good morning, everybody. Welcome to the Third Hour of Today. I'm Al, along with Mr Melvin.”
He continued, “We've got our good buddies Jill Martin and Jacob Soboroff here while Sheinelle and Dylan are enjoying a little time off.”
Before continuing with the segment’s topic, Roker asked the hosts about their weekends.
Also, it wasn’t mentioned where are Jones and Dreyer and when they will be back on the ‘Today’ Show.
Jill Martin’s quick update to her fans
Jill Martin excitedly announced her upcoming stint on 'Today' via her Instagram Story.
In her post, she revealed that she would be stepping in from 9-10 am, allowing her friends Sheinelle Jones and Dylan Dreyer to enjoy some well-deserved time off.
She captioned the story as, “See you tmrw @todayshow 9-10am while my pals @sheinelle_o @dylandreyernbc take some well-deserved time off.”
Accompanying the message was a photo of Martin, seated in her car, wearing sunglasses and sporting a subtle smile.
The 47-year-old also shared behind-the-scenes glimpses of herself getting her makeup done in preparation for the show.
Also, Jacob Soboroff had been filling in for Carson Daly over the past week and would continue to do so until Labor Day.
