On Friday, September 1, Deborah Roberts posted a nostalgic photo in celebration of the back-to-school season. She and her brother, Ben, were witnessed in the photo attending school for the first time as little children.
Roberts sported a broad smile, while her brother Ben maintained a serious expression. Roberts was dressed in a lovely outfit, wearing a dress with a sweater layered over it, while her brother sported a plaid shirt, dress pants, and a jacket.
The ‘GMA’ correspondent captioned the post with nostalgia, "Friday flashback. Ran across this memory recently and remembered how this little girl with bangs hates saying goodbye to the lightness of summer." Further adding, "Change has been my challenge."
Roberts went on to reflect that her "gapped-toothed smile" served as a reminder to embrace change.
She shared, “When my beloved brother, Ben and I took this photo, it was back to school time. I adored that red dress and turtleneck, ordered from the Sears & Roebuck catalog. It was September…Now my favorite month. "
She pointed out that her birthday and anniversary both "fall behind the fall colors" in September.
She concluded by saying, "So, as we turn the page, I’m embracing my childhood optimism that more light is ahead."
