'Today' show hosts shared Al Roker's good news
It was the 'Today' show that first made the announcement on behalf of Roker about his newly earned title as a grandfather. The NBC Morning News show included Roker in their major headlines and revealed the news for their July 4 broadcast.
Co-host Sheinelle Jones also commented on Roker becoming a grandfather, "That's really cute that his first grandchild's name is Sky. How cute is that?" Roker was not present on the panel but he did inform the viewers through the show that their family "couldn't be happier" with Sky's birth and that both the mother and the child were healthy and were doing well.
Roker had previously shared the due date of his daughter as to be sometime in June. He later pinpointed the due date under former 'Today' host Kathie Lee Gifford's post announcing her own grandchild's birth.
