LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The renowned American retail businesswoman and television personality Martha Stewart graced the ‘Today’ show with her presence for a special cooking segment. The stage was set for a brief segment where Stewart’s cooking skills were supposed to impress. Instead, a spell of messiness took over as Martha demonstrated how to break the lobster.

‘Today’ host Hoda Kob, Al Roker, Sheinelle Jones, and Willie Geist joined Martha in her pursuit to prepare a lobster linguine. However, fans who were watching the segment were disgusted by the sight of Stewart pulling out the lobster’s entrails. As she continued, the sight became more and more grotesque for fans and viewers, who couldn’t help but criticize and troll Stewart for her unpreparedness and lack of skills to crack open a lobster.

What did Martha Stewart really do?

Martha Stewart’s live cooking segment took place in the open plaza with all the hosts standing next to her, following her instructions about breaking and opening a lobster. The chef and co-anchors stood in front of a table, each with a plate and a cooked lobster on it. Martha then went on to explain how to take the lobster apart, saying, "I like to snip off the tips with scissors and shake it and get all that excess water out.” She further added, “Then twist off the claws from the body.”

Hoda and Willie were listening intently but looked confused with the instructions. But it was Al who spoke up and asked Martha, "What's that stuff inside?” She instantly replied, “That's roe and ink. Some people go 'ew.' You have to just ignore that. You can pull it out with a fork.” When Martha noted the stuff peering from inside, the camera zoomed in on the lobster and the disgusting sight of the insides of the lobster coming out became too much to bear for viewers. Many expressed their uneasiness on Twitter.

Fans of the show were not entirely happy with Stewart for messing up the lobster dish on ‘Today’. One fan wrote, “Is anyone watching the TODAY show segment of “How NOT to open a lobster” with Martha Stewart? What a shit show!” as a second stated, “@TODAYshow What a waste of food on set with Martha Stewart today what happens to all that pasta and Lobster.” A third noted, “Watching Martha Stewart decapitate and dissect a lobster on the Today Show was a bit much for me. Even the way she described how to separate the thing made me a bit squeamish. I can eat seafood. But you won't see me preparing it lol.” A fourth was quick to add, “Did you hear her as the show went to commercial?? She said “My lobster was not cooked well. I’ll gonna kill that guy,” while a fifth added to this, “Wait, did I just hear Martha Stewart say her lobster was undercooked and she’s gonna kill that guy on the Today show?! That lobster did look diseased tho ngl."
