'Their chemistry is off the charts': Insider claims Taylor Swift's romance with Matty Healy ‘isn’t just a rebound’
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Rumors of Taylor Swiftdating Matty Healy following her split from Joe Alwyn have left many wondering if their romance is a real deal or merely a rebound. But now, a series of sources have confirmed that the ‘Midnight Rain’ singer, 33, and The 1975 frontman, 34, have something that is much more than just a fling.
"This is not just a rebound for Taylor. She's into Matty and vice versa, and the chemistry between them is off the charts!” a source close to Taylor reportedly told OK Magazine. Prior to their recent romance reports, Taylor and Healy were initially linked in 2014 when she attended a slew of The 1975's shows. At that time, Healy debunked the rumors, stating that their relationship was simply a "flirtation." The couple was not linked again until Healy was spotted at the Nashville leg of Taylor's Eras Tour. "The timing for Taylor and Matty was never right, but it is now," the insider added in the interview.
'Taylor insists Matty has changed'
"They've known each other for years. That's the reason they’re not hesitating to be so hot and heavy,” the informer further noted. The two musicians' romance has allegedly grown to the point where Healy has been making attempts to win over Taylor’s father, Scott Swift. "Scott is wary of any man Taylor dates and questions if Matty has an agenda or is using her for fame," a second source explained, adding, "He's definitely keeping a close eye on Matty — mainly because of his wild past."

The insider also revealed that Scott is still concerned about Healy’s history of substance abuse, many controversial comments, and kissing fans at concerts. "Taylor insists Matty has changed. So while Scott is not his biggest fan, he's giving Matty the benefit of the doubt,” they added. The father of two apparently met Healy during the Eras Tour stop in Philadelphia, where they were seen conversing in front of spectators. The insiders further said that Scott is protective of Taylor but she believes she can easily deal with Healy’s rock star lifestyle.

"She knows all about his former issues; she can deal with that. Matty's a rock star, and she likes that about him, but he's not the same guy he was nine years ago," the source stated, continuing, "Matty's grown up a lot, and they seem to be a good match."
The new lovebirds have seemingly moved very fast, with Healy spotted with Taylor’s close friends Gigi Hadid and Lily Aldridge in Nashville on May 6. The British rock star also met Taylor's best friend and producer, Jack Antonoff, at Casa Cipriani in New York City, where the pair was spotted showing off some major PDA.

According to insiders, Taylor and Healy "sat next to each other at a banquette in the lounge.” The eyewitness also revealed that while they were "cuddling and kissing," neither had placed a meal order. After being noticed by an eyewitness, they hastily exited the Cipriani restaurant "holding hands" under an umbrella to maintain their privacy, as per a report by Page Six.
Over the past month, Healy has been spotted in the audience at stops for Taylor's blockbuster Eras Tour. Last week, he was seen standing next to Taylor’s father, signaling that their relationship is on the upswing.
