‘Tiger King’ meets ‘Too Hot To Handle’: Joe Exotic's hubby Dillon Passage and Bryce Hirschberg have boat party
The crossover of a true-crime documentary series and a reality show about attractive people trying to remain celibate is not a sentence anyone may have thought to read or write. But with most of the first half of 2020 gone away in a haze of pandemic and economic and social distress, here we are.
Behold: a person from the critically acclaimed Netflix docuseries ‘Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness’ has been hanging out with the cast members of Netflix’s ‘Too Hot To Handle’, and it’s a little difficult to decide how anyone can and should feel about this.
Dillon Passage, the husband of the notorious now-convicted zoo operator Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage, better known as Joe Exotic, and actor and filmmaker Bryce Hirschberg, a participant at ‘Too Hot to Handle’ got together and partied. Per a TMZ report, the unlikely duo partied on Hirschberg's boat on Sunday, May 24, in Marina del Rey in Los Angeles County, California, to celebrate Hirschberg's 30th birthday.
Reportedly, they parked the boat and only hung out with 15 people at a time every two hours, possibly to maintain some amount of social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic. The rest of the partygoers supposedly hung back on the dock and beach area.
Reportedly, at the party, Dillon and Hirschberg had shots and Hirschberg wished for Joe Exotic to be freed from prison. The party included other ‘Too Hot to Handle’ alumni like Harry Jowsey and Matthew Smith and allegedly went on till 5 am.
According to TMZ, Dillon first contacted Hirschberg after the airing of ‘Too Hot To Handle’ to tell him how much he had enjoyed the series.
But Dillon has been hanging out with other cast members for the overtly sexual reality show. Dillon recently shared a selfie he took with Jowsey on his Instagram Story, captioning it, “‘Too Hot To Handle’ meets ‘Tiger King’.” According to Mirror, Dillon and Jowsey struck a friendship due to the fact that they were managed by the same company.
Both shows, ‘Tiger King’ and ‘Too Hot To Handle’, have garnered large amounts of views, one for its unputdownable quality and bizarre real-life characters, and the other for its cringe-worthiness. And to imagine the two shows colliding is a rollercoaster ride in itself.
One can only hope that these friendships spawn a whole new Netflix series that we can all gladly binge-watch while locked up inside our homes in the pandemic.
