'Just being cringey': Tiffany Haddish becomes meme fodder after she chases Shakira at 2023 VMAs
NEWARK, NEW JERSEY: Tiffany Haddish has become the target of a meme frenzy after a video of her "chasing" Shakira backstage at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards went viral.
Haddish was seen shouting Shakira's name at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, while the Video Vanguard Award winner appeared to be attempting to flee, according to a purported video posted on the Instagram account Now Wut.

Shakira stole the show at the MTV Video Music Awards. The following evening, Shakira was the most-wanted celebrity, and Haddish was seen on camera chasing her down and yelling her name backstage.
Shakira left the room without responding to Haddish after taking a few photographs with fans, per Page Six.
According to videos that were shared, Haddish appeared to be totally obsessed with Shakira.
The moment the video appeared online, internet users began making fun of Haddish for humiliating herself.

Also, Haddish tried twice to photobomb Shakira on the red carpet earlier in the evening.
She was photographed photobombing the singer as she posed on the red carpet at the VMAs holding awards.
Netizens could not handle Haddish's apparent obsession with Shakira with one user commenting, "Somebody needs to put that girl on timeout like she needs to be stopped."
