LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The cast of the 2004 cult classic teen comedy-drama 'Mean Girls' has reunited for a Walmart advert, making fans go gaga over seeing their favorite stars as the characters once again.

Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, Lacey Chabert, Daniel Franzese, and Rajiv Surendra reprised their respective roles as Cady Heron, Karen Smith, Gretchen Wieners, Damian Leigh, and Kevin Gnapoor for the advertisement introducing Walmart's Black Friday deals.

However, Rachel McAdams, who played Regina George, was not seen in the commercial.

Almost two decades after its release, 'Mean Girls' continues to be one of the best mainstream comedies. Based on Rosalind Wiseman's book 'Queen Bees and Wannabes', the movie effectively brought out the complicated social hierarchy in high schools and how school friends impact an individual's personality.

The commercial, aired on November 1, shows the grown-up characters back at North Shore High School as guidance counselor Cady Heron, weather reporter Karen Smith, stage mom Gretchen Wieners, proud dad Kevin Gnapoor, and best friend Damian, while a new crew of girls rules the school now.

"Some things never change. On Wednesdays, we wear pink, but now we shop Walmart Black Friday deals," says Lohan's Cady as Gretchen drives up in her convertible loaded with Walmart shopping bags.

The one-minute fifty-six-second ad revisits the iconic scenes from the movie, like the "Jingle Bell Rock" performance.

The actors were equally excited to reunite for the advertisement.

"It was so nice being back together after all these years. It was great catching up with everyone," Lohan told People while Chabert said, "It was wonderful to spend the day with Amanda and Lindsay and it was so much fun getting to reminisce and be together again."

"It was great working with old friends again for this new Walmart commercial. Being reunited around this campaign feels really special," Franzese agreed with her cast mates.

Walmart will release a new ad with the cast every Wednesday till Black Friday and Cyber Monday on November 27.

'Mean Girls' fans over the moon after surprise reunion

Fans are not satisfied with a commercial. They need a whole movie to reminisce about the high schoolers.
