In its last couple of episodes, 'This Is Us' put the spotlight on the lives of siblings Randall Pearson (Sterling K Brown) and Kevin Pearson (Justin Hartley). Continuing the 'A Hell of a Week' segment for the third time, the NBC show will delve deeper into Kate Pearson's (Chrissy Metz) childhood fears and experiences that shaped her into the person she is now.

Directed by Justin Hartley, the summary of Episode 13 titled 'A Hell of a Week: Part Three' reads: "Kate finds strength in unexpected places." But what exactly transpired between teenage Kate (Hannah Zeile) and her boyfriend Mark (Austin Abrams)? It is a mystery as to how it will affect her present life with Toby Damon (Chris Sullivan).

In a new promo, Kate and Toby are seen in bed and the latter is pretty ecstatic after realizing that Baby Jack saw the lights in the kitchen earlier that evening. Through online research, Toby comes across the story of a Minnesota girl who benefitted from gene therapy. He's all excited about how the girl recovered 30 percent of her eyesight. "If my son could see 30 percent of me, I'd be ecstatic," he says.

Joyous to see her husband happy, she, however, warns him: "Before you go down this rabbit hole, this kind of therapy is not going to work for Jack." And with just one comment, they go back to how Jack's blindness makes Toby unhappy.

The bigger mystery, however, is why was Kate stranded in the middle of the street in her teenage years by her then-boyfriend Mark? Fans are ready to find out.

One posted on Twitter: "If Mark hurts Kate in any way on @NBCThisisUs tonight, I’m gonna be Jack, and the punching bag is gonna be Mark." Another said, "I don’t know if I’m emotionally ready for tonight’s episode about Kate."

After Randall punched a man (Episode 11) and Kevin slept with Madison (Episode 12), a lot may happen in Kate's life and it will finally lead to a sneak peek of 'The Sad Three' reuniting at the family’s cabin.
