Did 'This is Us' star Chrissy Metz and boyfriend Hal Rosenfeld split, was her new song a hint at breakup?
If you thought 2020 could get no worse, we have some more bad news. ‘This Is Us’ actress Chrissy Metz and her composer boyfriend Hal Rosenfeld have broken up, as reported by Page Six. The rumors about the split have been going on for some time now.
According to a 2019 US Weekly report, the actress had sparked breakup rumors after she had shared a post on Instagram about relationships. She shared a quote by Vienna Pharaon, who according to her Instagram bio is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. The quote states, “There is a moment in every relationship where we become confronted as we move out of the honeymoon phase and into the integrated love phase. It’s when we realise our partner isn’t perfect; we see them as human, the show actually drops, novelty wears off, and we are left with a decision that asks us to choose whether we want to love and choose this utterly human individual in all the glory and the mess, or whether we want to walk away.” Metz reposted Pharaon's quote and captioned, “I’m learning. I’m learning to be truly open. To see another perspective. To love differently. To change. To evolve. To trudge. If nothing changes, nothing changes.”While she didn’t directly address anything about her relationship, the US weekly report states that a user commented asking her if she had broken up.
The couple began dating in 2018. US Weekly had reported, that a source informed them that, “They’ve been dating for a few months now. He is such a sweet guy and everyone around Chrissy really likes him. He adores her and she is really into him as well.”
According to that 2018 report, Metz and Rosenfeld were spotted in Hollywood holding hands. And, Metz had also shared photos of her birthday celebration where she was spotted with the composer. The story states that according to a video obtained by US Weekly, the actress was heard saying, “No you’re not [going to see me on Bumble or Tinder soon] because I don’t need to be on those. Maybe I’ve already found [what I’m looking for].”
According to People, while talking to Access Live, the actress had hinted about her relationship with Rosenfeld. She is quoted as saying, “I’m socializing with a single person. You’ve got to kiss a lot of frogs to find that prince.”
The Page Six report states, the couple made their first appearance together at the 2019 Golden Globes.
Earlier, Metz was married to screenwriter Martyn Eaden in 2008. According to Life and Style, the couple split in 2015. According to the website, in her memoir ‘This Is Me’, she wrote, “I am still working on my goal of being a better ex-wife than I was wife. Marty is such a great guy and I am grateful that we had our time together.” In 2016, the actress was dating former ‘This Is Us’ cameraman Josh Stancil, as per the report. However, the website states that they separated in March 2018, and Metz is quoted as saying, “I’m dating myself currently” at that time.
In June this year, as reported by People, the star dropped the single 'Actress' following her 'Talking to God', and both these are set to be featured on Metz's upcoming debut album for EMI Records Nashville. The report states that 'Actress' is a story of running into an ex-lover with his new flame and how one is hiding their pain. She is quoted in the story as saying, "I love a good breakup song and I love the play on words. Obviously, I'm an actress, but we have all had those experiences where we put on that brave face when our heart is just broken, we act as if nothing is wrong even though you're dying inside — wanting something so desperately you don't have anymore."
Metz is yet to confirm this news.
