'The Wheel of Time' Episode 4: Is Nynaeve the real Dragon Reborn?
Amazon’s ‘The Wheel of Time’ has started on a promising note and has all the ingredients of becoming one of the greatest sci-fi shows in recent years. The three-hour premiere event saw Moiraine (Rosamund Pike) displaying her magical powers during the fight against Trollocs.
However, the focus shifts to another man in Episode 4 of the series. A man named Logain (Alvaro Morte) has claimed that he is the Dragon Reborn and he has the powers to prove that claim. But, one more intriguing character has come into the fray, and it's none other than Nynaeve (Zoe Robins). The mysterious character tracked Mandragoran (Daniel Henney) and killed a Trolloc as well.

In Episode 4, Nynaeve is traveling with Moiraine and Mandragoran to meet the Aes Sedai. Nynaeve now seems to be friends with Mandragoran. She is mixing up well the group of Aes Sedai and their Warders to know more about them. The next day, Mandragoran is praying to his gods when Nynaeve joins him in praying. However, their conversation is cut short when they get to know that Logain’s army is set to attack them.
Nynaeve and Mandragoran fight side-to-side on the battlefield, along with other Aes Sedai and Warders. However, Logain is turning out to be powerful for Moiraine and Liandrin (Kate Fleetwood). Logain uses his powers to break the shackles of their magic and injure everyone who comes in between. Mandragoran’s throat gets cut by a sharp object and he is dying. However, Nynaeve comes closer to his body and screams “NO” as she channels her inner power to save Mandragoran. The entire place gets covered with sparkling blue light as Moiraine looks at her with keen eyes.
Mandragoran is saved by her as she sits on the floor. The power she generated was good enough to heal Mandragoran’s wound, but it also made everyone realize that she might also be the Dragon Reborn. So now, there are not 4 chosen ones, but 5. If you remember, the lady who wanted to take Mat and Rand to the Dark One in Episode 3 said that she sees “five” of them in her dreams. So, Nynaeve might be the fifth contender to be the Dragon Reborn.
The show is getting more and more intense with each passing episode, making it a must-watch. We hope that the series continues to be this interesting because it has all the potential to become a successful franchise.
