The Weeknd also shared a series of photos alongside Sam Levinson, including a black and white snap that showed their close collaboration within what appeared to be a parking garage. He also included a group picture featuring the other actors from the series. Within the photo carousel, there was a snapshot of a pink sign indicating Jocelyn's dressing room.
'The Idol's controversial plot
Centered on the character Jocelyn, a pop star, the show takes a dramatic twist when she crosses paths with the peculiar nightclub owner Tedros, portrayed by The Weeknd. Tedros swiftly assumes command over Jocelyn's life, causing dissatisfaction for her friend and assistant Leia, portrayed by Rachel Sennott. However, in the final episode, Jocelyn courageously confronts Tedros, freeing herself from his grasp and taking charge as she resumes her tour. Unexpectedly, she later decides to reintegrate him into her life, but on her own terms.
The decision to end the show after just five episodes surprised many fans, especially considering the initial announcement in 2021 stated a six-episode order. Addressing the backlash, Abel clarified that the show's sex scenes were not intended to be "overtly sexual."
