UNIVERSAL CITY, CALIFORNIA: With her debut performance at the 'The Voice' live finals, some have suggested that Dan + Shay may have set up their lone competitor for failure. The lone participant remaining on Team Dan + Shay, Karen Waldrup, sang a cover of Rascal Flatts' popular song 'What Hurts the Most'.

Coach Dan Smyers even said, "The performance right there is what will win you 'The Voice'," as the country-pop pair gushed about Karen's opening song of the evening. However, a lot of people felt that her arrangement ought to have been more appropriate for her voice.

On Instagram, a fan suggested, "I think she was an octave too low, they should’ve been done and one key higher." Another person asked, "Very Karaoke average .. not impressive at all .. not sure why Dan and Shay are so passionate about her ?! Josh or Asher deserve the win!"

One user felt, "She did great but don’t think these songs will be enough for a win. It’s usually more about the song than the performance on here but hope she wins ." A fourth user added, "Dan + Shay’s arrangement doomed Karen. Love them but that was a bad call."

On X, users suggested, "Karen and Dan and Shay should have attempted to change the arrangement of this song for Karen, or find better ways to let her breathe..." Another person complained, "This song is doing karen no favors im afraid. a big step down from her performance last week."
