'The Voice' Season 18 premiered on Monday night and the coaches aren't holding back this year.

Season 18 of 'The Voice' kicked off with its first round of Blind Auditions, and John Legend is in it to win it as he blocks Nick Jonas for the second contestant of the night. Coaches John Legend, Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson returned to their chairs with Nick Jonas joining in as the fourth coach, replacing Gwen Stefani.

With Nick being a newbie on the show, the coaches are showing him no mercy, as they get ready to battle for the contestants they want on their team. And that's exactly what John did when Nelson Cade III, auditioned.

Nelson received a four-chair turn for his rendition of 'Pride and Joy' by Stevie Ray Vaughan. His vocals were so smooth that within the first few seconds of him singing, John wastes no time, and is the first to turn his chair. Kelly follows suit and so does Nick, but sadly he gets blocked by John. Blake was the last coach to turn his chair for Nelson.

Just by the sound of Nelson's voice, one could tell that he is a seasoned performer, he also revealed that he performed alongside Stevie Wonder once. Despite being blocked, Nick shared, "You could probably win this competition. You are a star, and wow."

When it came to choosing a coach, Nelson who is a classically trained pianist, picked John to be his coach. While his choice didn't come as a surprise, fans affirm he has what it takes to win this season.

Taking to Twitter, a fan wrote, "Nelson is going to go far! He's a great add to your team@johnlegend #VoicePremiere."

Adding to that another wrote, "@johnlegend #VoicePremiere Great job blocking Nick to get Nelson. He has a great voice and with you as his coach I see him going far."

"Nelson Cade III is going to win this year. Such a good version of Stevie Ray Vaughn. #TheVoice," a fan shared while another said, "Only 2nd singer and I want Nelson Cade to win."

"@johnlegend #VoicePremiere Welcome back John and you already used a block on Nick. Congratulations for having Nelson on your team," a fan added.
