The competition on 'The Voice' season 17 is slowly heating up and on Monday's episode, it looked like Blake Shelton might finally have a chance at winning this season after four-chair winner Ricky Duran chose him to be his coach.

Prior to his performance, Ricky dedicated his audition to his parents who had both passed away when he was 22-years-old. He was accompanied by his three sisters. "I just feel like it’s meant to be and I think my mom and dad are watching. I wish I could tell them that I’m going to go out there and sing the song for them,” Ricky said.

Hailing from Worcester, Massachusetts, the 29-year-old singer performed his rendition of 'River' by Leon Bridges. His emotional and strong performance got all four coaches to turn their chair for him almost instantly. Ricky's performance was the only audition on Monday night to receive a four-chair turn.

One could make out that he tells a story through his performance, which had the judges hooked to him even more. His voice was impressive and impeccable he had all four coaches making their best pitches, hoping he would join their team. While fans and viewers speculated Ricky would go with either Gwen or John to be his coach, he surprised everyone by picking Shelton. It shouldn't come as a surprise though because of Shelton's winning streak and since he has been the OG coach on the series.

Taking to Twitter after his performance, fans shared their love for the singer, revealing that while they assumed he would pick John, he did make a good choice of picking Blake, and this could lead him to victory. Fans also speculate that Ricky might be the one who leads Blake to victory this season. "I think @blakeshelton will be back in the winner's circle with Ricky Duran... #TheVoice," wrote a fan on Twitter. While another added, "Wow..huge win for Blake..finalist for sure..going to be a great season!"

"Really thought he was going to pick John but glad he picked Blake! He is so good he could definitely win!" said a fan. Adding to that another wrote, "I didn’t expect him to pick @blakeshelton. Great pickup." Ricky would clearly do great in any team, but if Blake keeps him in there till the end, he could be looking at a win.

'The Voice' season 17 airs every Monday and Tuesday night only on NBC. Check your local listings for more information.
