'The Voice' Season 19: John Legend sends Rio Souma home after battle round, fans say he made 'wrong choice' again
Fans have always loved John Legend's picks and decisions on 'The Voice', however, after watching the latest episode they are having second thoughts about it. It was the battles round on 'The Voice' Season 19, and John paired his two team members – Casme and Rio Souma to compete against each other. Both Rio and Casme left the coaches impressed during their blind auditions performance, so we were excited to watch these two battle it out for a spot in the four-way knockout round.
Casme and Rio had to perform to 'You're All I Need to Get By', and were coached not just by John but also Miguel. When Casme and Rio performed during the rehearsals, both Miguel and John couldn't get enough of Casme's strong personality and showmanship. But they also recognized Rio's talent and his impeccable vocals. Miguels gave Rio some tips on how to ease himself on the stage during the performance and helped him enhance his body language.

When it was finally time for the battle round performance, Rio and Casme gave a perfect performance that had all the coaches swooning over the duo. The coaches were divided over who they would save in the battle round. John then had to decide who he would be saving, he surprised everybody when he decided to pick Casme instead of Rio. John explained his decision by pointing out how Casme's stage presence and vocals drew him in.
Unfortunately for Rio, neither John nor the other coaches saved him or stole him, thus ending his journey on the show. Fans weren't pleased with John for not saving someone as talented as Rio during the battle round. Several fans took to their Twitter to question his decision and call him out for letting Rio go. A fan tweeted, "@johnlegend #VoiceBattles once again the wrong choice should have picked Rio."
