Wendy Moten from Team Blake, who is being considered as one of the top contenders to win Season 21 of ‘The Voice’, took her performance in the semi-finale a notch higher as she left her mentor Blake Shelton and coach Ariana Grande absolutely speechless. The 56-year-old crooner from Nashville first opened the show with a duet with Paris Winningham who also hails from the same team. They had belted out their rendition of ‘Change the World’.

Wendy Moten then showed her real skills after she sat for her solo performance in front of the judges namely Ariana Grande, John Legend, Blake Shelton, and Kelly Clarkson. In order to impress the judges and the live audience, Wendy opted for the song ‘You're All I Need to Get By’ that left Ariana and Blake completely smitten. The live band along with the background singers helped in setting the mood right for the evening. Social media users too quickly rushed to Twitter to claim that the versatile singer should win the show. The next episode will see three contestants out of the current eight heading back home no matter on what team they are.

Ariana Grande says “most ridiculous” post Wendy Moten’s semi-finale set

The semi-finale episode aired on Monday, December 6 saw Wendy Moten trying her best to grab one of the top five spots for the finale. She dedicated her solo set to her husband for always being her partner throughout their careers. After the set ended, we saw Blake Shelton jumping out of the seat and Ariana Grande sitting still in awe of her performance. When asked to comment on Wendy’s semi-finale set, Ariana said it was the “most ridiculous” thing she’s ever seen because it was so good. Blake, on the other hand, said it was not “finale worthy” but instead “music history.” Team Blake currently has the most singers in a team with three i.e. Wendy Moten, Paris Winningham, and Lana Scott.

‘Ariana Grande is shook to her core’, says Twitter

Just like Ariana Grande, social media users too were stunned with Wendy’s performance. “Of course, she’s going to win. She has a professional background. Kind of unfair to the others IMO”, said one user as another posted, “I still can't get over Wendy!! Blowing it out of the water and IN A CHAIR!! It is hard not to reward that!!” The next one shared, “Hailey will win #TheVoice because the show is disgusting and the creepy execs love kids who are really, really young. Wendy **should** win tho.”

One individual tweeted, “Ariana Grande is shook to her core after Wendy’s performance. “Are you out of your mind!”, as another chimed in, “Ariana’s reaction to Wendy is iconic. That’s hilarious…sitting!!” One user said, “Ariana still standing I’m crying but same sis Ari has been in love w/ Wendy all competition long.”  One added, “If @WendyMoten doesn’t win this season something is seriously wrong.” While, one user concluded, “She is a vocal beast! And her stage presence tonight! She comes off like a total pro. Bravo.”
