After eliminating two contestants and finalizing the top 11 in the previous episode of ‘The Voice’ Season 21, the latest one saw the remaining singers perform as the battle toughened for the crown. The makers dubbed this week’s episodes as ‘Fan Week’. After the top 11’s performance, one singer will be ousted from the show. Episode 19 opened with Team Blake’s Wendy Moten getting elated after getting flooded with fan messages.

The 57-year-old celebrated her birthday with much gusto as she got to sing the track ‘Freeway of Love’ by Aretha Franklin which was picked by the fans. The Nashville-based crooner, who has been singing for the last 30 years, decided to have fun with the track something which her mentor Blake Shelton loved and approved of. Even the social media users agreed as they asked her to loosen up a bit when hitting the stage. The rest of the coaches namely Ariana Grande and John Legend too were left thoroughly impressed by the opening performance of the week.

Blake Shelton gives Wendy Moten the icon status

After Wendy serenaded the coaches with her thrilling performance, Ariana told the singer that she always picked humungous songs and sang them incredibly. The global pop star added that Wendy genuinely had fun this time. Agreeing with Ariana, John chimed in saying, Wendy was a flawless vocalist and it might appear as if she was singing easily but singing so effortlessly required perfect techniques. He concluded that there were not many people who can pull what Wendy could.

Wendy’s coach Blake nodded and praised his team member. He told her that she was now stepping into a new artist role with icon status. Blake added that she was performing like a legend and with so much comfort that it was literally perfect. After the top 11 performances, one singer will be eliminated on Tuesday, November 23 no matter on what team they are.

‘Would like to see Wendy let loose more in her performances’

Social media users suggested that Wendy should have more fun in her performances. “I would've preferred a ballad for Wendy so that she could've flexed her astonishing vocal muscles more. At any rate, she did a brilliant job; I actually preferred her rendition to Aretha's!” Another stated, “I’m kind of getting tired of Wendy.”  The next one posted, “I'm sorry. Am I the only one who doesn't like Wendy Moten's singing on @NBCTheVoice?

Meanwhile, another shared, “Wendy’s song choice wasn’t the best, but look at how she still delivered.” One show’s viewer added, “That wouldn’t have been my choice for Wendy to sing but her voice is undeniably flawless. So she delivered as usual.” And, another concluded, “I would like to see Wendy let loose more in her performances now… she’s a master of the vocals obviously but I need more stage presence and working the stage like the diva she is.”
