LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The ‘Hot Topics’ segment on ‘The View’ can range from saucy to controversial. Since the talk show has been back from summer break, it has leaned more towards controversial, and that inadvertently also means political. Joe Biden has been the center of attention on ‘The View’ along with his government, and the political climate.

The most recent Hot Topic revolved around President Biden and his alleged anger issues. However, host Joy Behar was quick to steer the conversation to one particular point, the economy. Well, Behar's extensive talk about the US economy wasn't taken well by the Internet.

Behar’s comment on the economy

The shift from Biden’s anger issues to the economy was quick as Behar commented, “By the way, this whole notion that the economy is in bad shape, it’s not. That’s not true. And we are helping Ukraine.” Sara Haines was quick to cut her off by saying, “But that’s a headline.” Behar on the other hand wasn’t ready to pause, “The right wing in this country doesn’t want to help Ukraine.” This time, Alyssa Farah Griffin jumped in, “Perception matters with the economy.” Griffin talks about consumer prices, but Behar doesn’t back down, claiming that people shouldn’t be blaming someone who shouldn’t be getting the blame, in this case, President Biden. While every co-host put their point forth, the internet was stuck on Behar’s comment about the economy.

‘Joy must not do her own shopping’

‘The View’ posted the particular clip on YouTube titled ‘Report claims Biden has a bad temper with the staff’. Fans quickly flocked to the comment section as one user said, “The economy is not in bad shape,” Joy must not do her own shopping. I can’t believe she just said that. For anyone who does not like Alyssa, they are not listening bc she is the only one that makes sense. No one likes a boss being mean to them. NOBODY LIKES A BOSS BEING AN AHOLE.” Another viewer points out the state of the economy as they write, “The economy is destroyed. And Joy doesn't have to worry because even her accountant pays her bills. How sad.” And one comment calls out Behar’s ‘facts,’ “Joy with her BS facts lmao.”

Behar’s comment has left the viewers infuriated as one writes, “The audacity of joy to say that the economy isn’t bad is astonishing. makes me so mad to watch them say it isn’t bad when regular Americans are struggling.” And some pointed out Behar’s own net worth in relation to her understanding of the prices in the country, “Joy when you’re worth $30 million dollars like you are per Forbes, inflation is a dead issue for you. A $100 gas tank and $300 worth of groceries has no effect on you.” Ultimately, people simply couldn’t believe how Behar said so with a straight face and found it amusing as they write, “Joy sat there with a straight face and said the economy is good LOLOLOLOL.”
