The View's Joy Behar reveals best choice for 'Shark Tank' guest if co-host Whoopi Goldberg refuses gig
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘The View’ star Joy Behar recently revealed co-host Sunny Hostin might be a good choice to become a guest investor on the reality show ‘Shark Tank’ since Whoopi Goldberg seems reluctant to take up the gig despite constant persuasion from members of the show.
The 81-year-old sat down with the talk show's executive producer, Brian Teta for yet another episode of ‘The View: Behind the Table’ podcast and disclosed her one true choice for ‘Shark Tank’, should Goldberg refuse.
Behar was insistent on Hostin’s name and made some valuable points in favor of Hostin being a serious investor on the hit ABC show ‘Shark Tank’.
Joy Behar wants Sunny Hostin as an investor on ‘Shark Tank’
During one of the recent podcast episodes of the show, executive producer Teta brought up the topic of ‘Shark Tank’ and asked his guest, Behar, “Which of the hosts do you think would be the best [investor]? Who's got the most acumen?”
Behar put her co-host, lawyer Sunny Hostin, forward as a contender.
"Probably Sunny," the comedian said.
Behar then explained, "She's strict. She has ideas for a few shows. Yeah, I think she would be the best."
Teta completely agreed with Behar’s vision and said, “That's true, she would be the best.”
They made these comments after the ‘Shark Tank’ cast appeared on ‘The View’ and expressed their desire to have Goldberg join as a guest.
On the show, ‘The View’ co-host Sara Haines remarked, “You have a lot of great guest sharks this season, but I heard you really pushed for someone we know to be a guest shark on the show.” She then asked, “Who is it and why do you think they would make a great shark?”
Barbara Corcoran replied, "That would be Whoopi. No one would argue with me. She tells it like it is.”
Corcoran has been trying to persuade Goldberg to join the reality show but has received no answer to date.
As the guests and the co-hosts cheered for her to join the show, Goldberg addressed the issue. She seemed reluctant, saying, "Look, I love this show," before joking that she would need a huge paycheck to come on as a guest investor.
‘The View’ star Whoopi Goldberg addresses retirement rumors
Goldberg addressed the retirement rumors circling her in an all-exclusive interview with the US Sun.
"I've done nothing but retire. I've been retired my whole career, so I kind of like that, yeah," the comedian told The US Sun at the Fashion Group International Night of Stars Gala on October 17.
She continued, "I have a contract. As long as I'm doing the contract, nobody's mad."
She further noted, "But I've been off on Fridays for years now because when we did that normally, I'd go to work and do shows or do whatever because I could travel on a Friday."
