'The View’ star Whoopi Goldberg avoids on-air scandal after ignorant comment about Israel-Hamas war
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘The View’ star Whoopi Goldberg has just avoided a massive scandal on-air by stopping in her tracks to continue to speak about a sensitive topic about the Israel-Hamas war.
The 67-year-old while discussing the ongoing battle between Israel and Hamas stated that Jesus was Jewish and then immediately turned to the show’s producer, looking for approval to continue after making the controversial statement.
‘The View’ recently hosted a segment to discuss the ongoing Israel-Hamas war and invited MSNBC host of the ‘On Brand’ podcast, Donny Deutsch to talk about it.
While Whoopi was silent for most of the discussions, she decided to speak up in the latter half of the segment and ended up making a huge blunder.
‘The View’ Whoopi Goldberg commented on a sensitive topic
The hosts of the show indulged in a wholesome debate with their guest, Donny Deutsch.
While discussing the Israel-Hamas war and the rising antisemitism in the United States, Sara Haines mentioned how her Jewish friend now has armed guards at her bat mitzvah.
Alyssa Farah Griffin added, “Young people on college campuses do not understand Israel’s right to exist.”
She asked for a solution from Deutsch on how to make young people understand Israel’s rights and also threw light on how they don’t know much about the Holocaust.
The hosts all asked Donny questions and continued to have a civil discussion.
The conversation went on for nearly seven minutes until Whoopi spoke up.
She talked about the bible and how Jesus was Jewish and then stopped talking when she looked over at the producer.
"Am I in trouble now?" the moderator wondered. "We're out of time," Brian Teta, the producer said.
"Ok. Good. We'll be right back with Donny Deutsch," Whoopi said.

The hosts chuckled at Whoopi's question and Donny smiled, despite just discussing a sensitive topic.
Whoopi Goldberg told co-hosts that everyone’s replaceable on ‘The View’
While discussing ousted Fox News host, Tucker Carlson on the show, Whoopi stressed that “everyone is replaceable.”
Sunny Hostin, broke down the Dominion Voting Systems' lawsuit against Fox, and how it incentivized Fox chairman Rupert Murdoch, 92, to fire Tucker.
"Part of the Dominion settlement that hasn't been made public...part of the deal was...' you gotta rid of Tucker,'" Sunny said.
Joy Behar commented on Sunny’s statement, “It shows you that everyone is expendable," to which Whoopi added, “I don't know who ever thought they weren’t. Everyone is replaceable...I thought everybody realized that when you turn 11.”
